neque tinea demolitur
What is your destiny this day
Oh cosmic moth?
Shall you live or die?
Do come inside my tent
escape your demise,
as thunder echoed
and rain hammers.
Be safe beneath my tent
cozy by my lantern light
as rain splatters
in a symphony of judgment.
Nerves gratified
yet blissfully aware
and oddly content.
Cozy are we by lantern light
this rainy night.
and so the moth lives to see another day.

nice.
This well conceived and well executed poem seems really revealing of the companionable K I am having the pleasure of friendship with. We are sisters who never met, of different mothers :-)

Cloudia, I like that description, sisters who haven't met yet, of different mother's, I tease little four year old Mason all the time that's he my brother from another mother!
Thunder- I love it, you're a poet and I didn't know it! and now I do! :)
The moth is not drawn to fly too close to the light and to his own demise?
You have a beautiful way of writing. I hope you have a wonderful week, Karen!
this is so endearing...lovely
Lovely! You have a way with words.
I enjoyed reading this a different take and I am glad the moth lived to see another day.
I was rooting for the moth! Yea ... Nicely done.
Elegant and very well written.
Yet one gets the sense it is only a temporary reprieve for said moth , like visiting a cosy pub in LOTR......!
Most excellent!
Great poem, and terrific illustration.
symphony of judgement. Be dully advised that I am shamelessly stealing this
Beautifully illustrated the life of a moth :-)
