Good Fences #31 - A Roaring Summerlike Autumn

Good fences (in so many places) make good neighbors.  Especially at the Minnesota Zoo.  What an incredible day it was for the middle of October. Everyone experiencing the outside in Minnesota would've sworn it was July.

Except for -

Those Minnesotans living up north!  Ha! Ha! Just kidding.  We don't have a flake of snow anywhere here in Minnesota, yet!

GOOD FENCES

Here- Behind glassed area.....  Free to roam the open behind fences too!

"If you don't enter the tiger's den, how can you catch the tiger's cub?" -  Ban Chao

Nature teaches us sense and purpose, but mostly that owning a sense of humor is vital to our survival.

What did Greta the camel say to Josephine the camel?  "Should we stand up and show off our legs?"

A Zoo is one of those places where fences are not just for holding things captive, but more importantly for holding things back!

But- when it comes to holding back in life-

"You never lose by loving.  You always lose by holding back." - Barbara De Angelis

I was reminded on this day of something my mother said years ago.  She couldn't understand how they called this a zoo, when we barely caught sight of animals!  Yet, I was able to grab a few fence photos right?

As a matter of fact, after shooting this photo, I noticed someone trying to see what in the world I was shooting here.

"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature.  It will never fail you." - Frank Lloyd Wright

"Study people, love people, stay close to people.  They will seldom ever fail you." - Me

Thanks for sharing fences with me again, good neighbor.

Snow may be an uncomfortable pain the behind, but it sure makes for beautiful pictures.

I am glad it is not snowing up there but that first photo sure is pretty. Loved all your zoo photos and those quotes on the fence. AND your quote too :). Have a great day Karen!

We had membership to Tampa's zoological park for years...but haven't visited in ages. Need to get back. It's only blocks away.

Btw...that was a jaguar not a tiger *wink*

Ah yes, but still a great quote and my only tiger shot was behind glass! No fence!

I remember years ago on October 18, we had a foot of snow drop overnight in Salt Lake City. I remember the date because it was my daughter's birthday and I had to move her party to my house because of so much snow. Nice view of the zoo.

That snow photo was pretty but I'm so glad we aren't having snow here right now. I think fences in zoo's are necessary for sure. Too bad you didn't see many animals but you got great fence shots.

Great collection of fences, Karen. My husband was born in the tiger year but I don't think he's ever seen one p:-)
Oh, I smiled a lot to read you said 'someone trying to see what in the world I was shooting' (*^_^*) Actually I frequently have the same experience.

Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

Methinks Yasmin should spend a lot of time at your zoo.

It's probably been 20 years since I visited the Minnesota Zoo. I remember it being a wonderful place. Your photos are amazing!
