On The Street

Streets lead us to places we may never have met without them.

Sometimes you never know what you'll see
on the street.

our theme is
On The Street

Along a street at the Minnesota State Fair this year.

"The magic of the street is the mingling of the errand
and the epiphany."
Rebecca Solnit

Crossing the street to the US Bank Stadium
and the Viking Game with
the Seattle Seahawks

On the street in Northfield, Minnesota
beginning at town square and filling the streets
a place were folks appreciate their town
and so many food choices sponsored by

This weekend brings the Jesse James Days to Northfield.

"To find extraordinary things,
go to the ordinary streets."
Mehmet Murat ildan
and

"There are some masters from whom you can learn good things.
Streets are one of those masters."

"So, kiss the girl. Buy the dress. Take a vacation. Join the circus.
Order the fried frog legs."
Valerie Thomas

A night out.
Not just people
but their dogs too.

Walk your dogs, for youself as well.

"Whatever it is, do something that makes you feel."
Stacy Kramer

Look who just crossed the street.

"It's a shallow life that doesn't give a person a few scars."
Garrison Keillor

You may believe the Minnesota Renaissance is just another fictional 16th century remake
yet it's more than that.

It's the strangers you meet along the way
that just might change your thoughts
and leave you smiling.
You feel every twig and stone pebble beneath your feet
on the street
where dust covers your entire body more than you know
until you return home.

Meet the mud artist!

"The most memorable days usually end with the dirtiest clothes."

Hidden treasures waiting, parked
on the street.
Imagine the stories if seats could speak!

Across the street from where I'm shooting
stands The Archer House
a grand old inn and host to history
 since 1877.

I hope this weekend you find yourself on streets
 you've never traveled before.
new paths are a journey we all must feel.

"Understanding is a two way street."
Eleanor Roosevelt

Hello, the state fairs are fun. I may be in the woods this weekend not in the street. I would like to go on the Pedal Pub, that sounds like fun.
Great post and photos. Enjoy your day and weekend!

Loving your streetscapes.
And smiling at the mud. Back in the day it would have been hard to keep me out. I am still tempted.

I'll pass on the frog legs, but would walk the dogs on any street.
