Thematic Photographic # 165 Welcome Autumn

THIS IS A THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC POST....and today we

                    "WELCOME AUTUMN"

Thank you Carmi, from Written Inc. blog....... for a delightfully colorful burst of photos... to grace our screens all week......

I will try to reveal autumn .....we are still enjoying a late summer's end.....with highs near the 80's all week again....I could get so used to this........

....a gentle reminder of autumn's descent ....

My favorite summer buddy.....we spend so many summer hours together.....just the two of us.......!!!!!!!!

This summer's adventures are just about over......with these fallen leaves paving the way....dear buddy we shall part until late spring of next year.....

You know it's time to "Welcome autumn" when you wake up one morning and "Fog, has arrived and spots of early morning frost welcome autumn's awaited approach....with mixed feelings for me....shot two weeks ago now....

A festive autumn tradition lies....below...
A wine tasting at nearby Cannon River Winery where tastings are a simple pleasure ...and most delicious since Minnesota grapes survive the toughest of winters in jolly good spirits..... (photo taken last Friday)

The weeds of summer have weaved a perfect autumn garland throughout our evergreen tree. (photo taken last week)

....surprisingly...and luckily....this photo below is exactly where we are in relation to Welcome autumn......

Just a gentle reminder that summer is fast fading away....this photo taken today...but as I was snapping it, another reminder of what is coming was the crackling of other leaves behind me trickling down another tree....

Do you want this autumn feeling to last a bit longer?  Then go here and if you care to share your own autumness...we'd love to see it!

I really like the wine glass close ups! (But I'm not even a drinker! I just like the photo. :D )

The tree in the mist - quite compelling. And the lawnmower one gave me a laugh. Great pictures.

A great collection - the misty tree is lovely - and the wine glasses look verrry tempting! Nice reminders of cooler weather - which we won't be facing on this side of the world for another 6 or 7 months! Yippee!!!

Alexia, thanks...and you are so lucky to be entering spring....I am so envious!

Max, I got to thinking you might envy my tractor! ha ha....it does make mowing so much better...still have to use the push mower some too but this baby does most of it!

We've had two weeks of the most amazing late summer weather and this morning we awoke to....your misty picture. We seem to be at much the same stage. :)

Karen if I had a bigger lawn I might be a wee bit envious of your lawn tractor! lol I LOVE the second shot, that's beautiful! Enjoy your week!

Autumn has arrived here looking very much like summer with warm sunny days. Well, until yesterday! But then summer arrived this year looking very much like late winter early spring! The seasons are confused!

I love how you've taken us on a trip through time, Karen. I feel just a little sad that that time is over, but you've woven a thread of hope through each of these exquisite pictures. It won't be long before we're back on our tractors, enjoying all that the new season has to offer. And until then, there's always food, wine and good company.

Love, love, love this vignette!

Ah! Shades of New Hampshire. There are no leaves falling here in Florida. I do miss Autumn.

Great Photos! I Always Think It Strange That, As The Year Gets Older, The Weather Seems To Speed Up.......A Paradox Of Sorts.....

The mower caught my eye, but the leaves around it had me reaching for a rake. The wind is bringing leaves down rapidly and I must pick the last apples soon or the wind will have done it for me.

Tony- oh you are so right...except once winter (over here) settles in ....the time goes so much slower...!

Carmi- Thanks so much! ..and for helping me work on keeping a positive view for those winter days fast approaching!...plus just looking at my summer-buddy keeps those moments of reflection and the smell of just mowed grass fixed in my memory!...you can solve many things along the gentle hum of your closest buddy!

Bob S. We have many rakes if you're offering! lol...actually the winds out here do most of my raking! lol

I wish there were some way to record smells. I miss the scent of fresh-cut grass during winter. I know that winter has its own smells, but they're more subtle. Going to have to mull that one over as the temps continue to drop.

As it is, it's sunny and pushing 80 today. Summer doesn't seem to want to leave us.
