Meet Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night" ....the wedding cake!
"One must work and dare if one really wants to live."- Vincent van Gogh
It was oh so tasty....with a rich and delicious red velvet cake ...
oh so good
a most unusual but tasty wedding cake ....
for my most unique daughter....
and from my own special creations last Christmas, I decided hearing about "Figgy Pudding" wasn't enough. I had to make it and taste it for myself.....
...here for the first time ever I offer....
FIGGY PUDDING
This is the cake before Captain Morgan's Original Spiced Rum turns it into "Figgy Pudding"
Once every ones had enough cake, could you please feed the birds and squirrels......!
please!
If you're a fan of humming birds, grow these on your decks and sit back and have a good look at many visits by Hummingbirds!
I value my garden more for being full of blackbirds than of cherries, and very frankly give them fruit for their songs. - Joseph Addison
and Carmi is still serving up "Edible" as his TP theme this week and if you feel the hungry urge to spit one or two or more this way please go here

Love the wedding cake! Because it is so unusual, don't think I've ever seen or even heard of one before. Bravo to your daughter for breaking from tradition in such a delicious way.
I'm also going to have to try making Figgy Pudding sometime. Or maybe I'll leave out the cake and just go for the Rum. :)
Max- thanks! Either way the cake is yummy by itself too, but when you add the heated rum mixture over it all...wow...amazing flavor!
Wow! That is an amazing cake. Now I'm hungry for something sweet!
That’s not a cake- it’s a work of art!
A fantastical cake! so .... blue! :)
love the thought of figgy pudding , but I would probably rather have the figs by themselves and a glass of rum ;)
Those sunflowers have awesome texture!
I'm not sure I'd want any of that Starry Night cake, but the thick frosting is certainly authentic, since Van Gogh used to slather on the paint just about that thick. (I've seen a few of his in person, and the paint just sticks up off the canvas.)
And I must say that I've always wanted to try figgy pudding. It sounds nice. :)
That is a fantastic cake! And very, very clever. It looks absolutely gorgeous when cut, too.
I love those photos of ?sunflower seeded heads, though I was a bit confused by the humming birds coming for them.
We have feeders all over our garden, and love watching them. We also do a Garden Bird Survey each week, on behalf of the BTO (British Trust for Ornithology) which gets us counting the sparrows in the mornings!
It looks great, I would like to try your desserts.
Greetings,
Filip
