Thematic Photographic # 209 Surprise Attack

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC

TAKE 2     SURPRISE ATTACK

Who doesn't like to catch a comical misadventure of a dear-hearted puppet named Mr. Punch?

I sure do!

So, as I promised for Carmi's "Thematic Photographic" - and the theme of

FROM BEHIND

I went for a spontaneous fresh photo!

Imagine sitting where my camera was focused and without hesitation
lifting my camera up, and pointing it directly behind me and C L I C K !

What kind of face or faces might we see?

Amazingly I only shocked one - Mr. Puppet ruled the stage!

Everyone else-focused on the puppets.

Surprise!  You can pretty much guess what she's thinking, when in that split second she realized the complete stranger in front of her just took a picture, and she's in it!  She never said a word.

So if you haven't already checked out the other posts for
From Behind
or you want to post something

Good crowd shots!

This reminds me of the talent shows we use to put on every summer when I was a kid. We would sell tickets around the neighborhood and turn our garage into a makeshift stage.

How amazing that it is easy to believe that one can't see expression without without a face, but can easily see that the small crowd in the first picture is focused.

And the second, well, I'm pretty sure she's think "Did she just do that?"

There is obviously a little devil in you. My question is, "Would you have said anything?"

Great captures and post!

Here in Hawaii, it is BON Dance season, and that looks like the red and white striped tower the musicians are in as people dance around it - you gave me a bit of a shock, LOL

and WHY have I NOT added you to my BLOGROLL before today??!! (you are in my reader but. . . . )

Thanks for being such a pal-

Funny, that woman looks a lot like a woman I know (who have kids about that age, but those are not her kids and that's not her, but I did a double take).

A puppet show..what better place to turn around and look behind you..I love watching the expressions of children's/adult's faces as they watch puppets. That bit of sock turns from gracing a foot to gracing a stage and its transformation makes one forget they have a laundry basket full of lost one. :)

Methinks that the shock on his face had more to do with the fact that his sister had stolen his booger than what was happening on the stage. Of course, I could be wrong.

Clever shot, Karen! I am very familiar with Punch and Judy. I wonder how many people actually know about them.

even from their 'behinds'...well, the backs of their heads anyway, you can tell their all riveted to that puppet show!!

Consider my mind blown, Karen - in a very good way. I have powerful memories of my own from childhood, of puppet shows much like this one. Of course, back then photography wasn't as ubiquitous as it was today, and my parents were more from the "take-it-out-on-birthdays" school of photographic thought, anyway. So no pics of these experiences.

But this entry captures what it felt like to be there. To be enthralled by something you couldn't really see all that well. And to shoot it from both perspectives? Brilliant.

JJ oh for sure, if she'd ask. It wouldn't surprise me either, Minnesotains can be very out spoken!...and so bold!
