Thematic Photographic - 229 - On The Water

WELCOME

to

THEMATIC PHOTOGRAPHIC

Where Carmi, from Written Inc. blog  offers a theme and we post our interpretation of it.

ON THE WATER

Sittin' in the mornin' sun
I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come
watching the ships roll in
and then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah.

"The sea pronounces something, over and over, in a hoarse whisper; I cannot quite make it out."
- Annie Dillard

But, I am always, most at home by the water.

Ocean: A body of water occupying two-thirds of a world made for man- who has no gills.
  - Ambrose Bierce

Whether we freeze it, or heat it, or drink it straight from the tap
we can't live without it!

Sometimes Ice is
On the Water

As if forever, we've waited for birds to bathe-
perhaps this bunny has scared them all away?

"We never know the worth of water till the well is dry."
Thomas Fuller Gnomologia 1732

So many sailboats waiting
On the Water

What's this, a mermaid
On the Water?

On this day
Autumn was pushing summer away......

Fountains and statues are just a few things one can find
On the Water.

Now, I'm just gonna sit at the dock of the bay
watchin' the tide roll away-
oooo-wee, sittin' on the dock of the bay
wastin' time.......

You are always so clever in your choice of words and images.

you make it so colorful, that it seems like someone's painting it all in my mind.
Very beautiful.

Sage- I had a feeling you'd be on the water, with your new oar to try out and all!

Love the Annie Dillard quote... and that mermaid! What fun it would be have been out for a walk and come upon that sight!

Karen I love that song, it's a perfect song for driving out in the country, in the summertime, turn it right up and let all of my cares in the world slip away temporarily.

The well has gone dry on this end a few times, I think I now know the worth of water... more-so than I once did that's a fact! Great quote there, I can totally relate to it.

Where is the first photo from? I love the waterway but would rather a beach I'm thinking. Lets take one of those sailboats and sail away, even if only for a day k? lol

Have a g'day!

Cheers.

Kudos to Otis R. Now that I live in Florida, I don't know how I ever survived without the water. Great photos!

Darlin- absolutely sail away- one of the best ways to view the water and life! The first photo was taken in Nice, France.... the lovely south of France- what isn't there to love about France right!

Wow you are very creative! I love all your photos, and the first one in France... well I long to go back to southern France.

Oh me too! France- any where is my dream!

Beautiful! I really like the ice on the water - and as usual, the comments are perfect :)

My Mother used to be always drawn to the water and I suspect I have inherited the same feeling from. It is that constant movement, that ever changing noise - that very life force which can be found in even the most stagnant water.

Nice shot of Nice!

;-)

I've never gotten a picture of a mermaid, but I'll keep trying.

Perfect song choice, Karen: I could hear the delightful rhythm in my head as I slowly - ever so slowly - scrolled through this amazing selection. I wish I had a fraction of your topical range.
