Bedazzled

THE GOOD.

The Good was seeing artwork designed by David Cook, aka the Flower-Bomber at the Minnetonka Theater Art Gallery.

Just a glimpse of his work.  Another post will follow soon.

This collection of David Cook is leading up to the fun, which follows, randomly and is completely off topic for a moment, with nearly an equally colorful subject, our weather.

The Random.

The weekend proved to be a mix of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, weather-wise.

Our weather traveled so many directions this last weekend and was mostly quite rewarding.  Except for the torrentinal rain falls, oh and the "snap, crack, POP!" which occurred at my son's house.

Yes, that's my son playing lumber-jack man after one of their gigantic old trees-

didn't fare so well through Saturday's nights storm.

While it's incredibly sad, at the same time they can thank their lucky stars it didn't hit/hurt the house, shed, fence or neighbor's yard.  Even the grill underneath that fallen, enormous branch is perfectly fine!

Oddly enough, earlier on Saturday, we had quite the hiking day for all.

Ready for some fun?

THE FUN.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town Sunday was the final show for Lemonade for the Lawnboy  ...the musical.

Here is David Cook with two of his dazzling, lady creations, just two of his characters from deep inside his head and detailed throughout his book.

Of course, the best fun ever was arriving early before such a delightfully quirky musical as such and catching up with David himself!  Can you see my excitement right?!  This creation of his between us is one of my favorites.

There were live characters dressed equally festive in the musical!

(just one review of the musical)

Of course we must finish with one spectacular lawnmower right?!

That's it for now.  Thank you for stopping in! Have a wonderful week.

If We Wait Until Noon

We'd Miss How a Morning Sings.

So My Friday began like this-

Adrienne served Toast, as our theme.
Okay, toast is fitting, for breakfast.
But, before I leave the house
I had gardens and blooms and
busy little creatures on my mind.

and

Of course this Saturday morning, the sun was willing to play.

So this is what happens nightly?

"While we slept, these formal gardens
worked into their disguise. The Warden's

Judas and tulip trees awake in
Ermine. Here and there a flake
Of white falls from the painted-scene,
Or a dark scowl of evergreen
Glares through the shroud, or a
leaf dumps its load and the
soft burden slumps. Earthward like a
fainting girl.  Snowfall on a College-Garden."
Cecil Day Lewis

(Sounds just like a song right?)

Never Miss the Quietude of Morning.

When morning opens, our gardens spring
to life with mighty handsome gnomes.
Little bright red pointed hats awake

it's their village for heaven's sake.
It's quite the painted flower scene
and you'll see their garden green
this loveliest day of all, dumps
a wish, as each afternoon slips
into night, Welcome to their garden.

"WAIT!" bellowed a nearby blue gnome.

Is that a critter in sight?

Take good care all, happy weekend!

Tree Huggers - GF

Unplug your phones,
disconnect you game devices
put down those game controllers
for just one hike.
Okay.
Yep, amusement parks rock,
Lego Land builds imagination
while water-slides refresh
 especially after Rock Climbing
elevates us to higher places.

But there's something invigorating
about interrupting a hike to embrace the moment.

Stop, look what we found!
Goes to show there's more to a hike
than just hiking!

..and gee whiz there's a fence for Theresa's Good Fences too!
Win! Win!

"When one tugs at a single thing in nature,
he finds it attached to the rest of the world."
John Muir

We found a tree, and somebody built a fence around it!

Look Grandma, I'm tall like a tree too!

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything is better."
Albert Einstein

"Everybody who's anybody longs to be a tree!"
Rita Dove

"In every walk with Nature one receives far more than he seeks."

Straight Lines- TP -Take One

Barry H. Gillespie's quote on straight lines, "The path isn't a straight line; it's a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths."

First a few great straight lines from movies you may well remember yet today.

"I'll have what's she's having." - Estelle Reiner (female diner Bob Reiner's real life mother) When Harry Met Sally and that unforgettable moment was all thanks to Meg Ryan ad-libbing one of her best parts ever.

"I gave her my heart and she gave me a pen."- Lloyd Dobler, (John Cusack) in Say Anything

"Show me the money!" Rod Tidwell, (Cuba Gooding Jr.) in Jerry Maguire, "You had me at hello." Same movie, Dorothy Boyd (Renee Zellweger)

Our theme is STRAIGHT LINES
deserves more than one post,
it's that good.

See you later
with one more
neat look into
straight lines!

Mr. Metalsmith

Metal Critters

"Sculpture is the art of the hole and the lump."
Auguste Rodin

Welcome, come on in,
where you can meet
Metal Yard decor that is outrageously
funny and profound
for all
 preferred tastes in critters.

Yesterday, I finally stopped by

Rusty Rabbitiques

in Farmington, Minnesota

You name it, they carry it. New and Old Jewelry, Home Decor, Garden Iron, Candles, Furniture, Re-Purposed items, Fairy things, and piles after endless piles of stuff waiting for you to make an offer, and take it on home.

Besides this endless array of "where dreams come true by the artful hand of Mr. Metalsmith" my most exciting find was discovering
the resting place for our old town hall.

It was right there on the property and had
been transformed into a Gift Shop.

The Old Town Hall
is still standing.

It didn't look quite the same, but it felt good to see this old friend.  I always had a great sense of place when ever I voted, or had any other township business.

Where the Metal Critters Never Sleep

"Ain't nobody here but us chickens." -

Greetings from, Fancy Fredrick the Frog.

Meet the singing twin-frogs.

Rusty-Pimingo-Flamingo

Everyone should have at least one
 fabulous flamingo friend forever.

Be honest, do I look like a Pig-Bunny?

Rocket-Critter
I'm just a blazing from the sky!

Someone left the barn door open-

and the critters are making a run for it!

Thanks for stopping by and to all those fathers out there, I wish you happiness and much love, for Father's Day.
