In Our Always On World

Welcome to finding balance getaway! Posting for City Daily Photo from Linden Hills in Minneapolis. Note to self, too many places of business are closed on Monday! Just saying, thankful Good Things, Heartfelt, Coffee and Tea LTD. and especially Everett & Charlie (although technically they're closed on Mondays) were open for us.

(and a photo or two from Yogi Bear Campground.)

"Life is like a play: it's not the length, but the excellence of acting that matters." Seneca

Art always speaks for itself.

Louise Bourgeois, sculptor: "Every day you have to abandon your past or accept it, and then, if you cannot accept it, you become a sculptor."

Everything in life must have balance: Order, rhythm and harmony are key.

Down every street you could find a doorway leading to a new way of life.

Hit the streets or trails on foot or bike and feel the abandon in the freeness of nature.

It's Yogi Time Again

As much as we all love working everyday and hanging about our familiar surroundings every now and then escaping from our day to day life is immensely rewarding! My vacation begins today. Through the years I've posted about our favorite campground in Wisconsin it's been a family tradition since about 1991, and this year it's everyone included, all of my children, their spouses and children attending. Posting to City Daily Photo enjoy.

So today I'm posting some random day to day photos from around town old and new!  I'll post again once we return home.

Keep your face to the sun and you shall never see the shadows.

The trail is the thing, not the end of the trail. Travel too fast, and you miss all you are traveling for.

Louis L'Amour

Inspiration does not come like a blot, nor is it kinetic energy striving, but it comes to us slowly and quietly all the time.
Brenda Euland

This-this is what made life: a moment of quiet, the water falling in the fountain, the girl's voice, a moment of captured beauty. Those who are truly wise will never permit such moments to escape. Louis L'Amour

Long live your love together.

Back in the day. Or could it be from today?

Looking and seeing are two different things.

By looking at only one place, you miss everything in all the other places. Look everywhere to see everything.

A porch in the city, but is it real or a miniature porch?

Everyone has two eyes but no one has the same view.

If you guessed miniature you'd be correct!

Meet my skittish visitor which seems to be enjoying every moment.

Bugs with great fear in his sweet little eyes upon discovering what this ride was all about today.
Wait! What? You mean you're leaving me at this boarding place for dogs?
Can't I go camping too, please, please?

What We Move Together is about:

A bold and colorful exploration of all the ways that people navigate through the spaces around them and a celebration of the relationships we build along the way. We Move Together follows a mixed-ability group of kids as they creatively negotiate everyday barriers and find joy and connection in disability culture and community.

See you all soon! Enjoy your weekend.

Stay safe, and take good care of you.

Critters Come to Life and Bakken Museum

By way of this post (fully packed post) my SATURDAY CRITTERS will infiltrate (by their own wishful desires) to come to life at the one and only Bakken Museum in  Minneapolis, Minnesota. The critter vehicle is actually a normal resident and can be found there quite often, as well as around one of the area lakes. Enjoy, and welcome City Daily Photo.

Why not transcend your environment and stand out because you are truly a work of art living within your heart of hearts. Limitations, not in your world.

"Don't be different just for different's sake. If you see it differently, function that way. Follow your own muse, always." Morgan Freeman

"Let us step into the night, (or day) and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure." J.K. Rowling

Highlights of wandering about Minneapolis, so many adventures waiting for you. Do you remember my post of the Minneapolis Sculpture park? Always a must in my opinion.

"To wander is to be alive."
Roman Payne

"I know not all what may be coming, but be it what it will, I'll go to it laughing." Herman Melville

"The most potent muse of all is your inner child."
Stephen Nachmanovitch

More Bakken highlights, just let your imagination carry you away!

Welcome a few critters wishing they could romp throughout the museum!

Mid air catch of course!

Shouldn't a pretty kitty have a treat, pretty please?

Yep you caught me taking this photo in the mirror!

"If you don't take risks you'll have a wasted soul."
Drew Barrymore

"I wandered everywhere through cities and countries wide,
and everywhere I went the world was on my side."
Roman Payne quotes

Note to self: Keep wandering.

I don't live just to add days to my life
I live to add life to me days.

Do what you heart feels.

"A person does not grow from the ground like a vine or a tree, one is not part of a plot of land. Mankind has legs so it can wander."
Roman Payne

"The 'Muse' is not an artistic mystery, but a mathematical equation. The gift are those ideas you think of as you drift to sleep. The giver is that one you think of when you first awake."
Roman Payne

What shall be your dream revived today?

I am thankful for your visits and comments.
Enjoy your weekend and take good care of you.

The Art of Conversation

Welcome to another city fest for City Daily Photo and a gathering of folks, mostly strangers to each other, and conversing with one another.

The Art of Conversation

"Good conversation is as stimulating as black coffee and just as hard to sleep after." Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.

"Inject a few raisins of conversation into the tasteless dough of existence."
O. Henry quotes

Every good conversation starts with good listening.

"A conversation is so much more than words, a conversation is eyes, smiles, the silences between the words." Annika Thor

There is no such thing as a worthless conversation, provided you know what to listen for. And questions are the breath of life for a conversation.

 James Nathan Miller

"Everybody laughs the same in every language

because laughter is a universal connection."

Yakov Smirnoff

I love when conversations and energies just flow.

"There is no conversation more boring than the one where everybody agrees." Michel de Montaigne

"The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment."
Dorothy Nevil

Never a dull moment (or conversation) with any of the St. Paul Vulcan Krewe

Face to face conversation unfolds slowly. It teaches patience. Sherry Turkle

Opening conversation by
asking if someone wants to touch your shiny instrument!
She did!

"The true spirit of conversation consists in building on another man's observation, not overturning it." Edward G Bulwer-Lytton

Life is a conversation.
Make it a good one.
Glennon Doyle Melton

I enjoy each of your visits!

Thank you so much.

Enjoy your week and take good care of you!
