Back From Yogi and Critters

Hello everyone, it's good to be back from vacation, and yet my mind has kept trailing back to so many moments shared since we've returned. Vacations whirl by too quickly, don't they? Then it's back to work this last Wednesday and what a whirlwind it was, but everything is manageable right? With the right mindset/attitude! So, welcome to

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

and I'm also posting to City Daily Photo.

Lake Mendota in Madison, Wisconsin. Not where we vacationed but maybe a stayover here someday?

Onward to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park and Camp in Warrens, Wisconsin.

This is Yogi's swimming lake! I shot this just as they were calling everyone off as a storm was approaching. Never fails we always have at least one day of our trip with weather moving in briefly. But that's okay because we can retreat to some other festivities while we wait out the storm.

See after the storm comes the sunshine, and clouds and panning for gold and other trinkets. My son Dan explaining the process to a fellow camper.

Yogi is one of the wisest bears you can ever know.
I think truly we've all got a lot of Yogi inside of us.

He's learned more about himself in solitude as well as the public eye, then anyone else I know.  Just like Yogi, I've driven myself crazy, and happy, sad and glad and found peace after all the storms. Sometimes it's like rinse and repeat. But we all keep going. It's the secret of giving space when necessary and taking space as needed and living in your own space that creates pure happiness all around us.

Besides the many stuffed characters, you can bring home there are still the walking, talking and sometimes hilarious Yogi characters you can take pictures with.

They're everywhere just keep watching for them.

Or go to a planned meeting place, so many activities.

Of course, all of our pups and kitties were back home or in their spa like retreat boarding places, barking up a storm and enjoying the company of other fellow dog friends, and yet missing us all as much as we missed them.

Naturally they were excited to be reunited with their humans. Even Karina's newest pet.

Wield Your Assets and Critters

Welcome to another post for

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

and I'm posting to City Daily Photo.

Well, they say birds are sky bound. Just ask Alfie.

Gorgeous, sweet pup Rusty is living his dream finally, on a family vacation!

Proud and oh so happy Rusty!
"I love my humans, barks Rusty."

My daughter's pups have it rough, don't they? NO, not at all since they're only minutes away from their humble abode the greatest hiking places many dogs and humans dream of.

Ecstaticness ensued!

They gave the best welcome home loving ever.

Speaking of jungle in which there are so many meanings this next quote I feel like was designed for me.

"Emotion is 'recognition'. When treasured moments are identified in the jungle of our personal history during a visual or aural encounter, we capture magic sparks from our past, arousing flashes of insight and revealing an inner flare. These instants of recognition may kindle enthralling emotion and fulfilling inspiration. (Those journeys of love)

Journey Hand in Hand

Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying wonderful weather and not experiencing too many summer storms.

Welcome to Wacky Wednesday, well not really totally wacky, but a few of us at work have been naming each day to lighten our heavy workload and offer some well needed humor. It's quite comical to see how many co-workers carry each new name throughout the day. It actually works.

I'm sharing some photos from yesterday my day off which I spent with my son and his little girl at Centennial Lakes in Edina. None of us have been there in quite some time, and it's only 25 miles from us and it happens to be a crown jewel of Edina, Minnesota. I'm posting to City Daily Photo.

Edina, Minnesota

"Nothing could be more pleasant than to live in solitude, enjoy the spectacle of nature, and occasionally read some book..."

Nikolai Gogol

Don't laugh but this view reminds me of "A River Runs Through It."

"Eventually, all things merge into one, a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. (I like how that sounds) On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters."

Norman Maclean

"One of life's quiet excitements is to stand somewhat apart from yourself and watch yourself softly becoming the author of something beautiful even if it is only a floating ash."

Norman Maclean

The family that walks together laughs and lasts together.

"Laughter is wine for the soul, or loud and deep, tinged through with seriousness the hilarious declaration made by man that life is worth living."

Sean O'Casey

"I am fated to journey hand in hand with my strange heroes and to survey the surging immensity of life, to survey it through the laughter that all can see and through the tears unseen and unknown by anyone."

Nikolai Gogol

If it weren't for summers (and spring and autumn in Minnesota) I probably would move far, far away from my Winter wonderland. Seriously.

Reflecting on Friendship is the title of this statue, and the artist is Nicholas Legeros

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."

Anais Nin

\

"Perfect nonsense goes on in the world. Sometimes there is no plausibility at all."

Nikolai Gogol

"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would you see?"

Lewis Carroll

Grab a chair, sit for a while. Enjoy the view,

breathe the fresh air and let the birds sing for you.

"Even as we sit, I feel how much I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it and feel myself continually coming to life."

 William Shakespeare and me.

and that's a wrap. I hope you all enjoyed this jaunt around Centennial Lakes in Edina.

Thanks for sharing your time with me and take good care of you.

City Daily Photo July Theme Transparent

Welcome to my post for City Daily Photo and our theme for July is

Transparent.

I find it very interesting to see how other members of the group go about interpreting our theme.

Let's begin.

Here are a few selections I'm using for this theme.

Life and libraries can bring simple pleasures to us every day.

Mackinac Island. Will you be dining in or out this evening?

Frankenmuth, Michigan.

Our brightest gazes are happily kindled by unexpected beams of light

 that shine throughout our world.

Life isn't always perfect but having a Knight in armor helps!
