Sail Away With Randomness and Critters

Sail away with me.

"She stood in the storm
and
when the wind did not blow her way
she adjusted her sails."
Elizabeth Edwards
and when that didn't work she got herself a dog or two.
Or four.

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

"My humanity is bound up in yours,
for we can only be human together."
Desmond Tutu

Say hello to Emme and Bugsley my oldest son's dogs are here for 7 day visit.

Bugsley pictured below just a pup became Karina's very own dog when he was just 10 weeks old! You may remember him from my last post riding in a kayak!

Karina and Bugs
about ten weeks old.

This week!
The joy of having these two outweighed any rough spots.
One pup mixed with a dog and two older dogs..... well.
Bugsley and Emme
first day here.

We're enjoying seven days and seven nights
 of their joyful company.

Bugs is center stage. Always.

Just a few random little moments in life
where it's the simple things that mean the most.

Something about the way she moos
attracts me like no udder.

Can you see me in this photo?

I've got my kitty eye on you!

"A person is a person through other persons;
You can't be human in isolation;
you are human only in relationships."
Desmond Tutu

Do your little bit of good where you are;
it's those little bits of good
put together that overwhelm the world.
Desmond Tutu

"I believe in the simple things
the classic beginning of once upon a time,
that good conquers evil in the end, fantasy and fate.
My life is that of wondrous enchantment,
a place of endless possibilities and dreams,
where inspiration is found in the oddest of places.
I aspire to inspire, and someday I will change the world."
Andrew Kendall

The Simple Things

So many solid gold memories from my childhood when my family packed up the car and we'd drive from Michigan to Arizona to visit my grandfather.
These trips and especially traveling along Route 66 are still etched in my memory for a lifetime.

Here I am on my last trip to St. Louis with the Arch in the background.

Scour all Fuzzy or Cryptic Elements

Scour all Fuzzy or Cryptic Elements

Don't just see but feel nature around you.
Cannon River runners!

What's behind is often what lies within.

When I'm overwhelmed I become silent and 100% focused on what to do next. I'm sure most of you recently experienced the unfortunate results of protesters followed by rioters, if not be ever thankful, it stemmed from a horrific death placed upon one man by the knee of a Minneapolis officer.  I understand the pain and turmoil as I lived for eleven years in Minneapolis and only a few short miles from where this took place.

There is a bright side and I believe much has and will continue to improve with our diligence and determination. During these times I read.

Have you ever stumbled upon a writer, poet or perhaps an artist as in this case, someone you don't recall reading before and as you devour every word you know they're speaking for you?

This quote by Erik Pevernagie sums it up, for me.

"Comes the tipping point in life,
when we decide to a 'stop and search'
and our emotional police bring us to a standstill.
This allows us to scan all the little details
in the spectrum of our being: scour all fuzzy or cryptic elements
that are floating around in our mind
and restore the fault lines in the cluttered tale of our life."

She holds the light from within.

"To trust, to have faith. Because as a friend of mine once said,
"It's belief that gets us there,"
Kevin Costner as Joe Darrow, Dragonfly

It's belief that gets us there.

"Rather than loitering around, day by day,
some prefer to crawl out of the shadow of their squirrel cage and
try badly to cuddle up to a brighter side of life by searching out wiggle room to empower their feeble stance, expecting to eke out some soothing moments of relish and buoyancy in the wings of their expectant quest.
Erik Pevernagie

Hug like you mean it.

"When our mind is in shambles and we dare to reflect
on the story of our life,
we may discover, in the stream of our thoughts,
the fault line between what we have under-felt
and what we have overthought on our way."

Overthought can drag us way down.

"Faith is nothing more than a strong belief in something.
The glue that holds everything together."

Life always begins with one step out of your comfort zone.
Shannon L. Alder

"You have to believe, otherwise, it will never happen."
Neil Gaiman

"Beauty is not who you are on the outside,
it is the wisdom and time you gave away
to save another struggling soul like you."
Shannon L. Alder

Nature always wears the color of the spirit.

"You know your testimony is strong
when your roots are so deep
that other people's storms will never knock you over."
Shannon L. Alder

Thanks for your visit and your comments
they mean everything to me.
Take good care of you.
