Ah the mystery off a plane's wing.....and are these mountain tops? SNOW? Oh where or where could this be? |
Okay Carmi from Written Inc. blog has given us quite the high theme this week ...."Aerial" and if I know his participants they all are highly creative, and they will reach high and through many photos and will display all sorts of A E R I A L I know!!! Aerial...has quite a wide scope .....
If only Carmi had held off on this one .....I will be flying high up into the sky....around 5:00 P.M. this May 26th.......and I could have supplied NEW photos...but oh well ....it's not to be......and if anyone else wants to know where they can post your own aerial photos then just go here
http://writteninc.blogspot.com/2011/05/thematic-photographic-146-aerial.html
I enjoy a genuine mystery........one that I can reason to figure out the what, why or where of it......and sometimes my own thought of a place or thing is perhaps more exciting than knowing the real story behind it.....Has that ever happened to you too?
So these photos I offer will be YOUR mystery to solve. In this photo: Another mystery location ...are we lurking close behind...from the same flight?
Oh my, a window view again.....or? I've seen much of this right out in my own backyard! Well yes, sort of...... wouldn't you agree? (Hint, this is not any where near Minnesota) |
Is this magic or ....... |
This too is an Aerial view but from where exactly is it? |

Wow you've certainly set a high standard here, Karen. A heap of mountainous snow - the Rockies? The Swiss Alps? Too hard!!!
I love the other shots - which have given me hope, as I have NO airplane shots at all....
Love the quotes, too :)
I hiked up Mount St. Helens about 25 years ago, and it looked a lot like #1.
The second looks like Tokyo, and the third one looks like London.
Great fun! I would guess Alaska or Canada for the first three. I'm guessing the last two were taken from a tall building, but in what city?
Hmmmm, for the photo with the tram, I'm going to guess Milan. :-) It reminded me of Vienna, but I don't remember seeing any red tile roofs there.
All very good guesses, but so far only one is right! I can't spill the beans yet though....!
The last picture is definitely in the UK as the road markings give it away. The other city shot could be anywhere in Europe - Germany or France?
For the snowscapes I'd go for a flight into the States over Canada, one might even be Greenland.
Let us into the secret Karen.
I'm going to agree with Bob about the first three being Canada and the last one, ummm no the last two are somewhere in the UK, where I don't have a clue! Good one Karen... keep us guessing but not for too long k? lol
I haven't got a clue in the world about where any of the shots are from but I really like the composition of the shot with the trolley in it. Nice shots.
OKAY! I think it's too early for the entire answer...need a bit more Sherlock here... the shots from the plane... are in I_ _ _ _ _ D!
London is true enough Bob! But what about a city that begins with a P and ends in an e and it has so many statues all about their buildings?!
ok Ireland, LOndon and I am guessing Prague?
I love how you turn every theme into a delightful journey for us, Karen. Thanks so much!
The plane-window shots are over Iceland. The topography fits, and my Canadian roots recognize that snow anywhere :)
Everyone's already guessed Prague for the one with the tram and the cars driving on the right. The others? London, of course: left-hand drive and Euro-spec vehicles and street markings all the way.
Everyone is so clever...! and the last post before this vrom Carmi spells all the answers out to a T! Perfecto everyone....there's no way I could have guessed Iceland (or any other really) but I'm going to start looking out the window of a plane more often and snap more photos when I do! Oops, there will be more strangers wondering why is she taking so many pictures! Does that happen to everyone else too?
