Any guesses as to what our theme for Thematic Photographic is this week........... ?
Carmi, from "Written Inc." blog has offered "greyish" as our theme this week, and in the scheme of all things greyish we shall wander...and just so you know, things may be a bit......greyish or dreary!
The sky, water and land where ever we roamed were all greyish tones in November of 2011 just north of San Diego. Unless something was painted. Every where I seemed to go Grey skies were looking at me nothing but grey skies did I see. and nothing by greyish seascapes to see, and they were following me. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Seagulls were seizing the day though, all lined up in a row. and yet..... I cried, never had I seen so many greyish days all in a row. Have you ever tried bursting out of a grey day by daring to do what everyone dares you not to do? Oh grey skies nothing but grey skies do I see Never see the sun shining around me Nothing but empty trees do I see all around me. Greyish skies looking at me Maybe if I'm lucky I can catch a ride on the back of a hare as he's running free underneath these greyish skies all around me. When you venture into the city, you can happen upon a game of hockey or catch a glimpse of the skyscrapers looming under such greyish skies of a lazy Sunday afternoon...... But........... Suddenly, as if the magical*color*wizard ascended from the greyish skies around me a hint of blue*skies splashed between the clouds above me.... Soon these greyish clouds will be behind me. If you want to follow a few more greyish posts or say why not bring your own greyish photos for us to see too! I almost posted an angel photo!... I like your examples of the theme. Everyone has a focal point either by a hint of color or object.
Grey skies looming - but you make them look so colourful somehow! Why could I only think of the colour of my hair? I like your hare much better:) It’s a lovely shot.
Very good interpretation of Grey. You are following the theme perfectly. I also just commented but referring to two pictures in an older article.
Greetings,
Filip
Though grey skies are gloomy, these photos are really lovely! I enjoyed taking the grey journey today- and the blue sky at the end (very metaphorical!!).
Wonderful :)
I hope to get back into Thematic Photographic! I will think about greyish this week and see what I can come up with!
I had thought of grey skies too but had nothing suitable; today is beautiful, sunny and very warm for February. Karen even your banner photo meets the greyish theme. I just hope that hare keeps running and doesn't vanish like my grey hair,
You make greyish look beautiful!
I see we had similar thoughts on gray angels.
I like your seascape.
Great set of greyish days - I laughed at the ice fishing one. I've often said to my brothers, as we pass Strawberry Reservoir and see all the ice fishers, "It's cold, it's wet and it's fishing. Yeah, ice fishing is for me."
Max, I like ice fishing too, but I have to know the ice is safe! In Minnesota the last day you can have your house out there is the 28th of Feb...but some people push the limit...this year...it's really been a scary thing...just not winter enough...
I actually like the first photo the most. It's not just that the color is grey, but the mood is, too!
What a good way to deal with this theme - I'm glad you broke out and lightened the mood. And sometimes a bit of colour Makes grey look elegant and interesting. Like your clever use of coloured text too!
Those grey days made me thing of England!! But they are great photos - you make grey really interesting!
On My Soap Box...the mood was rather grey, we were on vacation and I longed for just one bright and sunny day at the ocean...!
Jenny, I know it's amazing what little things (especially colorful) in life can help with our moods of the day too!
Gilly, thanks! I know when I visited England we had a lot of not so sunny days...hard to find my shadow...ha ha but even in the gloomiest of days, everything around us, especially bridges and castles were so lovely you barely noticed the sun being gone!
Bob, you are so right about my banner photo, it so often blends with Carmi's themes...a lot!
Great collection of grey...
