Saturday Centus- It's a Mystery

Welcome to Saturday Centus -
My Monday Edition.

Jenny has offered for her theme this week, an artsy photo with the words, The Dark Side of the Stars, for us to describe in 106 or less words, any style and any extra photos.

It's a Mystery

I feel a mystery
coming on.
Not a true-light in this sky
just an immense canopy
glows from this sky
of electric-ness
and lost dreams
and empty pockets-
once rich in silver and golden paychecks
far reaching this night's sky.

Somewhere else a starry-night highlights
a more distant sky.
Of filled pockets and unspent paychecks.
This sky must be, the dark side of stars
what once was bursting of highlights
now aglow with streams of birthing sunlight
breaking this spent evening sky.

Save your money and instead, visit the stars of yesterday.
Can you recognize any?

Yes, the stars of stars; Charlie and Marilyn are well visible. Here it is the Southern Cross, rather small but well visible, on the right the bright Achernar. I do like to gaze up into the starlit sky.

Hi Karen,

First thank you for your much appreciated comments on our blog. I recognise Las Vegas, James Dean, Charlie Chaplin, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Wahington and Burt Reynolds. Ok an attempt but I only recognised a few.

Greetings,
Filip

I so love to see where you go with the challenges. You are so talented your wit and wisdom and oh the lost dreams and empty pockets. So relate able of those starry ending nights of light.
Blessings

Wonderfully spirited! I love how you turned the "dark" of the prompt into bright lights and stars! Loved this!

The poem was wonderful. How cool was the picture of the Hollywood stars long gone. I still talk with my mother about many of them.

Viki- Thanks! I really like it too, especially little Shirley Temple! She's not often in photos with all the really cool stars!

Filip- you are welcome- and good job on picking out some of the stars! I can't even name them all!

Woody Allen (center), Clark Gable (center), Peter O'Toole (right). I wonder which movie they are looking at.

It was worth the wait!

Oh my gosh! What an array of stars! My five useful fingers would wear out naming them all here.

I see the stars here at night, and they are lovely, but not near as many as I saw in Tucson where the humidity is practically non-existant. Still, they are nice!

Judie- I'm hoping your fingers will be at the top of their game soon! You were lucky living in Arizona but then now you have another kinds of beauty- lucky you!
