FAVES OF THE YEAR
Carmi, (I adore and applaud this theme of) Favorite photos we posted for 2012 for -
Thematic Photographic
My favorite because, this one photo screams, don't pass me over!
"Everything is dear to its parent."-
Sophocles
A favorite of mine- because I seldom get these moments in photo snapping!
In a random moment, or the twinkling of a second, while you're busy capturing something so material, don't let real life pass you by.
I didn't take this photo, and never posted it on Carmi's Thematic Photographic posts. But I did post it else where, and why I must include it in my favorites, is because all that it represents and all that it touched deep within me, I also heard all those precious feelings rustling around within me, from other blogger friends or on Facebook.
I praise the photographer (name escapes me at the moment) who snapped this and allowed me to discover it at the Library of Congress prints and photo dept in Washington D.C.
Of course I couldn't, not post a favorite with some of my most favorite loved ones!
Also, because it's a Hipsmatic photographic that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine on my phone!
Because, not all fish swim in the water! "Imagination is not a talent of some men but is the health of every man."
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
More power to us all that create and -
"Them that build castles in the air."
- Sir Philip Sidney
Never forget what you've heard so many favorite times before
Dance, like nobody is watching!
"Custom, then, is the great guide of human life."
-David Hume
My favorites wouldn't be complete without adding my fun with lights and shadows and evening glows and reflections inside and outside of windows and other reflective places!
"Into each life some rain must fall,
Some days must be dark and dreary-"
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
BUT!
Then our other days must be filled with our favorite things!
I want to take this moment to say thank you first to Carmi, for bringing his Thematic Photographic posts to us each week, and thanks for all his comments- and most of all thank you to all of you who grace my posts and come by and leave me gifts of precious words from you!
I'm looking forward to our new 2013 and more times of sharing with you all!

That deer shot was a lucky one, wasn't it?
Your favs have just become mine.
Love the deer. Wonderful choices for the year.
Love the deer but the two kids made my day! Super shot! Brother and sister? And who's walking there in the back?
Lovely choices - Your reflection ones are always intriguing - and your grandchildren are just beautiful.
Thanks for all your posts, Karen, past and future!
Happy New Year--the first of a sailboat in the grass caught my attention! Get it into the water, once the water thaws.
Sage- you are so right! If only spring were right around the corner!
Peter, no they are cousins, from my daughter and my oldest son! They are sitting down at a mini-golf course while we were camping! All kinds of people were walking around us.
Alexia- thanks so much, they are so precious to me!
You make my spirit sing!
Aloha & Happy New Year wishes

Lovely shots - especially the two gorgeous children!
And the deer, of course!
Some wonderful photographs - thank you for sharing them with us.
Wonderful! (Sorry, I'll try harder to find something to smart-off about in another one.)
A pinic with a car on the beach like that is now longer acceptable. Strange sight.
Greetings,
Filip
I think your loved ones photo is my favorite, thanks to the joy in their faces, but I'm also fond of the deer and the orange glow, too. You have shared some awesome photos in 2012!
Best wishes to you in the coming year!
Such marvellous photos, full of variety and different atmospheres. I love them all!
Have a wonderful 2013.
The first one makes me want to run... wearing very little, which might be a mistake considering that the temperature hasn't reached 30 degrees in days *sigh*
Love your "Faves"! They all brought a smile to my face.
Happy New Year Karen!
I remember some of those, but not all.
Terrific collection, Karen.
