The Mag - 161

"Everything we see hides another thing, we always want to see what is hidden by what we see, but it is impossible.  Humans hide their secrets too well."
- Rene Magritte

THE MAG

Not To Be Reproduced - 1937 by the Belgian Surrealist
Rene Magritte

On the day of what he believed to be.

 A Groom's Tale

He'd dreamt she was his virgin bride,
before this day
 his perfect daisy heart
yet she
was strung to another.

A mere nemesis to his plight
  you see
he desired no other
that might suit him better.

From the moment
she first danced the streets
 of his waking life
  she, all freckles and dimples
he knew, he loved her more, than love itself.

 Sometimes,
"Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake."
Henry David Thoreau

Yes, you're right. But daydreams do not cover satisfaction, love here and now I do.

Loved the quotes and the hope.

Romantic and dreamy words. Those quotes go well with your poetic tale and I do hope it is a happy one as long a sit lasts. In today's world, nothing seems to last forever not even love or friendship.

I have been thinking about joining in on the fun with The Mag, but pieces like that one are quite intimidating.

I think he's in for a disappointment - from virgin bride to nemesis is never good. Let's hope he can get over her freckles and dimples and move on! Nicely written.
