YOU HOLD MY KEY
Love is like a mirror.
No matter how many times you peer inside
it reflects back
whatever you put into it!
A mirror is like a lock-
revealing appearances.
So many locks
not enough keys
to go-round.
A lock is like a family
none of them perfect
but always open
to more keys.
A family is more than blood
it's people marrying in
open arms
warm embraces
and
when the going gets rough
awakening many a beast
awakening many a beast
that's when love blooms best.

I like the way this builds Karen. I think your writing has been influenced by your own family and the happy pictures you have shared.
This is wonderful!
Lovely sentiment and so true!
Lovely words, indeed.
... I like this!
And when you give it your all and get nothing in return is the mirror defective? Something to think about on this end, I love writing which makes me question and wonder about things... life things (lack of better words at the moment.)
Fantastic writing Karen!
They do contain us dont they , especially the one i chose and created rather than the one i was born into .....
A poem exquisite and creative, wonderful love!
It's true. Love blooms best when we conquer the beasts together. If more people took that opportunity, they could reap the benefits and be the richer for it.
Love is a powerful force when the door opens to imperfection.
Having said that, I still like to guard the door carefully.
=)
Much wisdom in your words.

Excellent! By the way, I am planning on joining in on the fun at The Mag in a couple of weeks or so.
Jerry - great news! I know you'll have fun with it!
Sue- you're absolutely right, and the photo Tess offered this week clearly defines it!
nice poem about individualism ...none of them perfect..but special in their own way.
