So, when, what to my wondering mind should appear, right around my very own tree fort, more commonly known as my house! Why treetops of course.
My dear old Mr. Humpty Dumpty Tree
First treetop, is in honor of this dear old tree that sadly, is slowly being chopped bit by bit since summer and soon will take a great fall. (Tree chopping by Hubby, he says tree must go, too close to the house.)
A Santa, an Elf and a Reindeer are helping secure their Head Elf with ribbon and garland to the top of tree # 2.
But they eventually get him where he needs to be.
Using my Hipstamatic APP I shoot
Photo after yesterday's fresh fallen snow from our driveway and something odd caught my attention while shooting this.
No, not a bird, not even a toy plane. That's right, not a creature was stirring but something else was! There's one itty bitty leaf hanging on with every last drop of strength it has.
For a view of other treetops please check out TP here.

hang in there, little leaf.
The snow and the trees are so pretty.
We've had enough snow here, already...I've just had my 3rd day in a row of shoveling and hacking at driveways full of it (and ice).
Plenty of trees WAY too close to the house, also!

Is the snow earlier than usual in your hemisphere this year? I seem to be seeing beautiful, cold, snowy photos on everybody's blogs!
That lone leaf is very staunch :)
Note to self: decorate Christmas tree TOMORROW!!

Glad the elf made it Shame to chop a tree down, but there you go, husbands do like to get the saw out!! ;)
Great shots!
I'm really sad for the tree your hubby has declared war on. So sad.
Poor tree.
Great shots, Karen! I love the first and last ones best :) Imagine that - one leaf left on the tree.
Mac I completely agree! Some men just don't get it. Or is their animal nature taking them to the power of destruction? We are still in battle over this. I think he believes I'll give up every time he chops more. But so far, I'm standing strong!
Alexia, no our snow is pretty much on schedule. In fact the first week of December when everyone was putting up their trees, I just couldn't, because our grass was green, and not a flake of snow to be found.
So far our one itty bitty leaf still hangs on today, even after our great wind storm of yesterday!
Rather that one little bitty leaf than the white plastic bag stuck in our crab apple tree. Annoyingly I can reach the thing and will have to wait until the strong winds promised for Christmas shred it and blow away the pieces.
is it an oak up there? oak leaves hang on till the bitter end.
