The Family (real or not) Christmas Tree Question.
Yes, I know it's the middle of January.
The idea of removing the bulbs and trinkets but keeping the lights strung and hauling our lovely tree outside, and keep lighting it for a few more weeks- was so last year!
Yes, we/ I did that! Last year!
This year my thoughts were, let's burn it up in our fire pit.
But I just didn't have the heart to do that. It wasn't dried out at all!
So, I opted to stick it in the snow in a corner of our property and a neighbor's with no lights, just the naked tree!
Truthfully, I was most reluctant to bring everything out this year (we had no snow yet) but when it came time to untrim our beloved tree, that was easy.
But, not the case for all!
So, like my sweet niece posted this morning on FB - they're wondering should they just keep their (real) tree up all year?
What do you think about it?
Is yours still up? Are you planning an untrimming Christmas Tree party?

no tree for me.
I tree came down before the New Year. We traded our big artificial for a smaller one and I would never leave it up year round.
Enjoy it as long as you can...
I like your free-floating approach to traditions!

It usually makes me sad but I didn't have time to think this year. Whizzed the decorations off on 1st Jan, Algarve bound on 2nd. I think it's quite nice to keep them, if you can, but not still decorated. Wouldn't be Christmas without a tree to bedazzle.
Take it down, Karen. Easy for us. This year Mrs Jim wanted it down before her foot surgery. I helped her.
It is always kinda sad for me to take the tree down. This year it seemed like I had just put it up, when it was already time to take it down!!! I do very much dislike the packing away of the ornaments...but even more so... the hauling of them all to the basement under the stairs! But alas it is all put away now until next year, when it starts all over again!!!
Now I do have some fake Tuscan looking decorative skinny trees in Tuscan pots that I leave up all year in my eating area off the kitchen, and I decorate them with flowers and things for Valentines, Spring, Summer, and Fall, and then eventually Christmas again...and that is kinda fun! But they don't look like Christmas trees. They are in a spiral design.
When we used to get real trees we would leave it up as long as we could to enjoy it...and then I would be embarrassed to set it out for the trash in February...so it would go outside in the backyard until it eventually got so dry we would break it all up and then put it in the trash containers. So...I now prefer a small artificial tree that is easy to put up and take apart for storage!
Well...enough of that! But you did ask! ha!!! I hope that you enjoyed your Christmas...and that the New Year is treating you well so far!
