"This life is a shadowy thing, lad. We live in a crowded space of lights and shadows, and when left to ourselves, we all too often fail to see the brightest light of all." - James Michael Pratt, The Lighthouse Keeper.

WINTER'S STORM
A meanness thirsty on revenge
it thunders on
always threatening.
Soundless snowflakes flicker
black sky surrounds me
atop this tormented salty sea.
Raging monstrously
reaching higher and higher
reaching higher and higher
insidious roaring waves
and droplets freeze solid.
The hammering against bare metal
runs through me
runs through me
wrenching moaning
icebergs setting.
As passionate as a rock
this winter's ice
grinds right down, storm and all.
To the bottom of water's ground
deep beneath me
deep beneath me
always a bite away
chewing and spitting.
Into fathom water
it falls, covered by roving sand
buried forever.
Until, next time.

a brutal, stinging feel to this. :)

"the hammering against bare metal"..I imagine it to be powerful just like the storm
I felt like I was in the storm. So vivid and cold and brutal hammering against metal. WOW! Awesome write! Blessings
A bit eccentric, quite different, well done...
Until next time, indeed...
Yes, there's always a next time. Nice one.
You captured the darkness, the depth, and the rage of the sea well with your words.
This sea roils in elegant mystery...gday mate
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your words are as powerful as the raging sea and ice.
Superbly cool!
Great energy and excitement!
