It's time again for Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday.
Lopsided, as in much lopsidedness for the television show N.C.I.S.
I never enjoy wishing anyone off a show, but the actress it appears, they are replacing Ziva with, is one you'd believe would be history, especially after last night.
If this were the real world of NCIS- (Ellie Bishop) would be GONE!
Ironically, she, Emily Wickersham, was in the film Gone.
Of course, nobody could completely replace, Ziva.
Here is a link where you can vote to bring Ziva back. Will it work? It's worth a try right?
I'm not saying this isn't a worthy actress.
But do you WANT HER CONSUMING 98 % OF THE SHOW?
Does anyone else agree?
What I missed most from last night's episode of N.C.I.S. and frankly the last few new episodes, before their short break.
It's not that they weren't in last night's episode, it's just that their exposure was too limited.
FIRST and foremost, I miss the character Special Agent, Leroy Jethro Gibbs. The man we've come to respect, the way he was, not what he's become lately.
Abby Sciuto
Abby's information here, thanks Wikipedia.
It felt like she had about four minutes of viewing time.
Cool hat though!
I missed a worthy appearance of all these characters. As for Gibbs, the manner in which they are airing him lately, is not the GIBBS we've come to respect and enjoy. Wikipedia discussing season 9.
Anthony DiNozza
Great writing for DiNozza's response after their capture at the airport in last night's episode.
He had a few more minutes of viewing time, but not enough.
Donald Mallard Ducky.
He had a lovely conversation during the shower of the dead guy moment, but again, not enough of Ducky.
Oh that's right they opened the show with Bishop hitting balls, and they closed the show with her hitting balls. Oh, and hugging Gibbs.
Jimmy Palmer, Ducky's side kick. Who doesn't enjoy his insightful humor?
Hmm, let's see was Jimmy there last night?
Timothy Probie) and (McGeek or McGoo) McGee.
Yep, he was there, very briefly.
Is it me, or does anyone else feel like our beloved characters are riding shotgun to the show, and their actual parts are those puppets being pulled by the hands of one new character?
Well played Ziva, every time!
I (and a trillion more) miss Ziva, and yet, I'm willing to allow her the grace of making her own necessary moves. I'm extremely happy they didn't kill her off, as they have done in the past. Nobody likes to see their long time characters, killed, much less shot in the head.
It's just seems to me, that it's horrible enough to not have our Ziva anymore, but to bring a replacement at the expense of seeing our characters in their usual status, is even a greater loss.
I'm left with two thoughts. Is somebody secretly trying to sabotage this show? Or, is this new replacement for Ziva's spot, related to someone highly associated with this show's maker?
It's not that I don't care for the actress, Emily Wickersham, let her roll on the show. But please, CBS or the responsible party, JUST NOT at the expense of our beloved, carried the show all these years, enjoyable and willing to be on the show, characters.

since i've not watched last night's episode yet, i'm gonna have to skip this post. ;)
Tex, Oh I hope you come back! And comment after you watch it. Very important!
I have much to say, but I'll try to keep it short. I watch little television, but one of my favorite shows has been NCIS. Ziva was my favorite character. I even wrote a post about her. When she left, I stopped watching the show - until I heard they would replace her.
I thought about this long and hard. It is impossible to replace Ziva. The could not get an actor to imitate her. If they tried, they wouldn't last two weeks. They needed a female with special skills, but those skills could not be Ziva's.
At first, I thought Bishop would not work. However, I realized they needed a few episodes, just like they did when Kate left and Ziva replaced her. So I gave Bishop a chance. Last night, she became part of the team.
I like Bishop very much. She has strong skills, quite different than Ziva's. She needs time to build relationships with the team. They have focused on her to help launch those relationships. I think it will work. I like her and I hope she stays on. She even gives Gibbs a hard time, and that's tough. Give her a chance.
Now I am feeling very sorry that I didn't get to see it last night!
Not familiar with the show (I know ~ out of the loop) don't watch much TV ~ but great post for L ~

I no longer watch NCIS it has been spoilt.
I don't watch NCIS but maybe I should give it a try!
JJ- I some what agree with you. It's not that I don't like the Bishop character, what's forcing me to stop watching is how her character has changed the show. Too unrealistic for me. I like the tough guy persona of Gibbs, it's key. I don't believe they need to give Bishop 99% of the show to make a place for her character. They never had to do that with the others coming in to fill the empty slot. I was enjoying them having a guessing game between the team, Will it be this one as the replacement? But then they'd bring in another one, even an ex-wife of Gibbs! But you probably missed those episodes when you stopped watching for a while. I had another thought too. Maybe they're trying to make Ziva jealous? I read articles about how Ziva's leaving the show was sudden and unexpected and naturally not to their liking.
LindyLou- I'm beginning to agree with your opinion! If things keep on like this, I'm finished with the show too.
Karen: Do you watch "Intelligence"? I find Bishop to be the same type of character, without the chip in her head. Now that's unrealistic!
JJ- that's a newer show I think? I'm more of a Criminal Minds, Person of Interest, C.S.I. Las Vegas. We have them set to record and watch them later. Except, NCIS is one I usually can't wait to see. Well, until last night. Too much Bishop for me!
I haven't hardly seen a new episode of any show in a couple of years, so I can't really say.
I'm afraid I'm no help... I have no TV... by choice, and I've never seen this. I did like Mark Harmon in Summer School. That's about how long it's been since I had a television...
It does sound, though, like people are wanting Ziva back.
I haven't been watching NCIS in a while but I agree nobody can replace Ziva.
Yes, a wonderful tribute to your L!
Not sure about the TV show (I don't think I've ever seen it) but since reading this post I have become a fan of the word "lopsided".
Can't get it here in Spain :-( (sigh!)
But great L post!
Well, since it ended with Bishop being crowned as the new Probie, perhaps the limelight was to more fully introduce her character. I think she's a bit silly, with her moniker of sitting on the desk or floor rather than in a grownup chair, and the constant eating of snacks. No one could ever replace Ziva -- perhaps she will return one day (they sure left us with a cliff hanger deep looking into Tony's eyes, after all)!
Ducky is a fave character -- I fell in love with David McCallum on Man from U.N.C.L.E. when he was much younger and love him still!
Abby, too, a favorite -- she is the coolest of the cool!
But Gibbs is definitely getting a bit too soft...
NCIS is one of the best shows around -- if I'm not home to watch, it gets recorded!
O.k., you know I missed it, AND I forgot to record it. Ziva had her own reasons for leaving, I suppose, and I don't like the idea of anyone replacing Probie. I'll catch it next week and give you my review. In the meantime, Criminal Minds was sooo exciting!! And gave me a new quote!!
xoxoxo
i think they needed to flesh her character out a bit for us to get to know her. now that's she's a regular part of the team, i think they'll balance more. we are so used to the other characters that it is okay to give them a back seat for a while.
Judie, I know Criminal Minds was hot! Excellent beginning and ending quote too. I watch CSI Las Vegas after it and it also rocked off the charts for good shows!
Tex- I hope you're right, because I really don't want to stop watching the show!
Sarah Surprise, thanks, I agree with your comment, and we tape it too just in case! I hope Gibbs does go back to the old loving tough guy that he plays so well! I had to laugh, I love Ducky too, but from the man of uncle, I was a Robert Vaughn team all the way. Even as a little girl!
Alan- you are silly! Too funny!
I think Bishop got center stage, because she would stay in the script. I like that she's an intelligent blonde(!), but her character has not the depth Ziva had. Hopefully that will come as the actress gets more practice:)
Yes, more of Gibbs! And they finally personalize McGhee more!
If it aint broke don't fix it. Zeva made the show.
Not a show I watch.
Not a show I watch.
haven't seen the show but lopsided is a great L word! {:-Deb
lopsided: a great word!
I've not seen this show.
I haven't seen the show. I don't think it airs here. But I have always loved the word "lopsided" It somehow reminds me of rabbit ears!
We really miss Ziva on the show, and we would sure like to find out why she just quit.
Unfortunately, I am not a long-time viewer of NCIS...
But I heard a rumor that my favorite show, "24", is coming back!
Thanks for linking to the letter "L".
