Good Fences # 2 - 3 April 2014

It's time again for Good Fences Link-Up!

GOOD FENCES # 2

From St. Paul, Minnesota, I offer a fence and part of the gate.

Welcome to the Alexander Ramsey House a Victorian-era house built by Minnesota's First Territorial Governor, Alexander Ramsey.  The house is alive with genuine family items and furnishings.  The Minnesota Historical Society offers an array of festive holiday tours, private or public and field trips for students of all ages, allowing them to be immersed within life, as it was, in the 1870's.

Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1969.

The wrought-iron fence that surrounds the house is still in excellent shape.

This wrought-iron fence includes a wide double gate, carrying the wrought-iron letters "AR" I bet you can see the "A" right away.

Rules to play along too.
1. Link in a post featuring a photo or photos of fences or gates.
2. Link back to Run*A*Round Ranch Report in your post or use the badge code to display the Good Fences button in your post that automatically links back here.
3. If time allows, please visit some of the other participants and comment on their shared posts.

That is really a gorgeous old fence. My daughter and I were living history presenters several years ago. I love historical homes and would love to visit this one. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day!

Love, love the fence and the Historical Home. I actually do the Victorian era home tours in my little town in Colorado, in the summer. None of them have a fence so grand.

You could be correct concerning the wee ranch on my blog. It certainly could be just the ranch hands house..and a grander one over the hill.

Impressive house! I always look at the fence when I notice an old building to see if it is original, it is part of the charm of such an old dwelling.
