GOOD FENCES
Greetings-
London, England, where hardly a fence can be seen on our vacation disk.
Of course, we discovered a most famously important gate. Do you know where it is?
My daughter, at Buckingham Palace.
We actually met a tour guide at the Tower Hill Tube Station for a Jack the Ripper tour along the streets and alleyways of London's Whitechapel district.
Tower of London
and more necessary fences.
"A man's mind is wont to tell him more than seven watchmen sitting in a tower." - Rudyard Kipling
But once you travel beyond the city of London,
a hint of remarkably old, yet hearty and quite lovely fencing unfolds.

My time in the UK has been all too short and I am eager to return. Your photos only make me feel more so!
I would give both my ovaries to see the Tower of London!!!
Wait...I don't have 'em any more. Well...Maybe I could ask Bud to donate something. [wink]
Great images Karen.
I love the UK. On our last visit, just by chance, we saw Prince Charles entering Westminster Abbey. Great photos!

You tally-hoed!
What fabulous photos and a wonderful trip! Thanks for sharing the fences! Hugs, Diane
Ahhh, London! What a beautiful city. I love the cottage/house in the last photo. The "tree" looking vines by the front door is a clever idea.
Beautiful collection. I am so happy I was right about the Buckingham Palace gate. Your daughter is so pretty. Lovely set!
Thunder- Yes it is! I wouldn't mind owning it!
Christa- I agree their landscaping is beautiful!
Tanya- I know, when I saw her post I had to laugh. Imagine posting that in the same week!
Amazing fences. We don't have any like those around here. Your daughter is a beauty!
Old, yet hearty fences are the best Karen :)I remember standing in front of those very impressive Buckingham Palace gates,London is such a fabulous place to visit.
It's so wonderful to see all these places again. Is the last picture taken in the Cotswolds? It looks a bit like it with the honey colored stone the house is built of. Very beautiful - I love the wall as a fence, so typical.
What a great post full of royal-like fences!
What an awesome place, and beautiful fences!
Oh wonderful fences and memories -- I did recognize that famous gate! My favorite photo from our London visit is (I swear) the picture I took of the back of the Tower of London while we were waiting for a bus... there was laundry strung out on a line from a tower window (the back of the building where the guards live). There was something about that homely touch in this historical building that just made me smile.
