Twas Twelve Days

"Instead of a gem, or even a flower, we should cast the gift of a loving thought into the heart of a friend that would be giving as the angels give." -
 George MacDonald

'Twas twelve days before Christmas

when all through the village and as far out as the countryside, angels could be heard.

As this story goes, not one singing angel
had even one discouraging word while-

children frolicked in the parks, footballs to toes and merry go round chases, and the roar of laughter clouded all of the angel's songs-

songs that carried far away and drifted through closed windows in fact!

while purr-fectly charming kitty cats could be seen hanging not from the chimney with care, but way up high on top of their own cupboards waiting-

for the return of "The frisky Dog" charging and bellowing his rollicking way across the room in the hopes that-

Even now that it's sleepy time- (and even the dog will sleep)

and snowmen and women every where sang dear little creatures and munchkins to sleep- while their bellies were full with sugar plums instead of just visions dancing in their heads- (every last sugar plum was gone) Oh my!

and off beyond the snowy path, somewhere around the North Pole, or so I've heard-

All the tireless storekeepers where chatting and carrying on with Santa's Elves-

and bagging freshly baked cookies for the long journey ahead.

and dear old father Christmas chuckled with glee as he rechecked Santa's List-

taking in account every last entry from all the little Elves reports as well-

Because we all know how GIGANTIC of a HEART Mrs. Claus has, and strange as it is even those silly little mischievous children still receive, no matter what!  Imagine that!

But of course this story ends-
In hopes that old St. Nick won't be stranded somewhere in the Badlands!

and that like year after year, he'll spring from his sleigh and to his team he'll blow out a whistle
and away they will fly across a thousand downs of a thistle
and in doing so
we'll all hear his "to all a good night" as they flew out of sight!

Remember a hug is a great gift, one size fits all and
it's perfect to exchange!

I sometimes wonder why Blogger is so odd when it comes to our daily posts? I create a post, publish it and still it doesn't appear to be posted, unless I view my own blog. On those times I wonder, is it appearing for anyone when it's not even in my blog roll? Odd. Just odd. That is all.

so cute. love the kitty watching over things. and peppermint patti! :)

blogger often doesn't recognize my post exists in the blog rolls and sidebars. i have to go in, edit and republish it - sometimes a dozen times - before blogger 'wakes up' and picks it up, even though it's been displayed, plain as day, for hours.

i use feedly as my blog reader. at least the feed gets through to readers like feedly and bloglovin, even if blogger doesn't recognize its own posts.

Oddly enough as well, somebody, to the tune of 22 somebodies, it appears has viewed this, although other than myself, not one comment yet. Strangely enough, this happens more often than not! :) Just saying... does anyone else have this happen too?

Hooray somebody saw it! Thanks Theresa I'm going to give that idea a try!

This is a very heartwarming and wonderful post Karen. That is so strange about blogger. I read lots of complaints but haven't noticed anything. Maybe I am just oblivious and need to pay more attention. I will from now on. Have a great day :)

We all know that Mrs Claus is the one who keeps everything straight on Christmas Eve!
The only thing Blogger is doing now that I have noticed is putting the number verification on everyone's blog. But I just ignore it and the comment will go through without it. Someone is definitely asleep in the office this past week because I am sure there have been lots of complaints about that.

Delightful pictures, I specially like the first picture about angels ~

I have the issue with blogger too so I merely change the time again when I don't see it published ~ Sometimes its slow, sometimes its fast in updating it in the feed ~

Wishing you Merry Christmas and happy holidays ~
