What A Difference

Incredible, what difference one day can make.

Not a snowflake or snowbank could be found anywhere for days.

All around town winter waned mildly as the browns, reds and golds of autumn spread between our every footstep.  Unseasonably warm, nothing like November's frozen snow filled days.

But this is Minnesota after all.

Finally two nights ago, after another day dawned dull grey and all the little birds shivered as the wind grew stronger, it happened.  Snow arrived once again.

Lots of it too.

Yep, Christmas was officially over, and of course our sNoW returned.

Shall we wander about my snowy yard?

"We lose ourselves in the things we love.  We find ourselves there, too."
- Kristin Martz

My trees are my close confidants.  On windy days they wave the best kept secrets, just for me.  After a snowfall, I believe they decorate their branches just for me.  On dry blistering days, they weep ever so much.  But mostly they stand tall, a proud existence and I am ever grateful for their respect as well as their beauty and shade.

Good morning trees, the sun has also returned!

Here's to a closer look at this unrestrained, daredevil driver who thinks that snow racing is a harmless game!

"Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage." -  Anais Nin

"I plant objects as I think them, not as I see them."  Pablo Picasso

"Imagination is the eye of the soul." - Joseph Joubert

Can you smell the woodsy aroma from a crackling fire?

Try leaving some footprints today for someone else to see, no matter where, if it's sand or snow.

From that wonderful top photo, all the way through: a romp of the soul.

We are like birds swooping around together for the pleasure of it; I love some of your maneuvers, K!

Can I quote YOU in a future post?

We still have no snow although I did see flakes falling a few minutes ago so maybe we'll be white by tomorrow morning too.

We have had snow for one day all winter. That was enough for me.

Fantastic post - it made me laugh all the way through!
Especially enjoyable as I sit here in a t-shirt, planning to go to the beach for a swim after lunch!

We had the same thing, no snow at all, temps in the 50's Christmas Eve. Then a storm came in and we had a couple inches of snow on the ground by the time I got up. Nice, white Christmas.

There's nothing quite as beautiful as snow covered trees. They really do sparkle! Love the little guy giving us the tour! Glad you got snow!!

No white Christmas for us in Michigan -- and that's fine with me. I'll take a light winter after next year, with (hopefully) all the branches staying on the trees instead of falling down!

I love this post and your cheery greenman in the white and send warm Happy New Year wishes your way!

This is great; it reminds me how pretty snow is, but I’m happy to admire it from afar.
