GOOD FENCES
I mentioned in my post yesterday that we visited the park to take a picture next to the Checkpoint Minnesota sign. There are 12 checkpoints located in various locations in Minnesota and they offer prizes of course, but mostly I crave the hunt (some are difficult to locate) no hints given and you're on your own to locate the sign. It also keeps "cabin fever" at bay!
The word Minneopa comes from the Dakota language and is interpreted to mean "water falling twice" referring to the beautiful waterfalls of the Minneopa Creek.
Minneopa State Park virtual tour worth a look. After viewing the virtual tour it seems the new rod iron fence was recently installed.
"What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness." - John Steinbeck
I think it's wonderful to see they kept the original fence when they installed the larger, sturdier fence.
I'm still laughing at this sign. It reads, Warning, Please stay on the sidewalk. This area was recently seeded and should not be walked on at this time. Thank you! Park Staff. Perhaps a bit of staff humor? Where have I heard that before?!
Poor little seedlings! Brrr!

I love both fences, they're both pretty. And I fell in love with the frozen water :)

you got a double allotment of fences on this wander. Lucky you -Killroy
love the glint of sun to provide a bit of 'warmth' to the shots. :) great new fence and laughed at your comment about the poor seeds...
The frozen waterfall is truly beautiful - but it also shows how cold it is. Brr indeed. I like the old fence in front of the new fence.
Maybe they planted icicle seeds, Karen?

Wonderful series of fences in this post. imag
Looks a great place. Though I think the older fence is a tad too close to the edge for me. Don't you just LOVE signs!?
It looks cold and beautiful!

Pretty fences, a great spot for a walk!! Especially as the sun made an appearance, to warm things up!!
You find some great places to visit and the old fence is a real bonus.
Its reminds me our Minehaha frozen waters. Brrrr...not going there though now...
You make me miss the winter months. Before I became a Florida weather wimp, I loved the snow. Thanks for the memory.
Dearest Karen; Oh My, Beautiful waterfall and yes I LOVE the sun light in the picture; wonderful capture♡♡♡ Looks REALLY cold but I wish I could experience this nature and walk at least once☆☆☆ And I smiled with your comment for the sign. Haha, funny warning and wondered under that weather:-)

Handsome fencing. I hope it prevents people for walking on the seeded area. ;)
