"What's one man's rubbish is often, another man's treasure."
Junk dealers make their living on that theory anyway.
On this day, Misty and I both had treasures on our minds.
Misty smelled a rabbit, and she was bound and determined to catch it.
While I was searching for metal goodies for my latest art project.
I was beginning to think Misty had a much better chance in the treasure receiving department.
Neither of us got our treasure.
But, the walk was desirable.
Still that's okay, the search is an enjoyable part of my artwork, and sometimes,
Misty gets to tag along.
Unexpected treasures do happen.
Words, and the various descriptions inscribed/associated to them.
From an antique store I purchased this shiny little treasure, although it's by no means an antique.
I bought it just in time for my daughter for Valentine's Day.

I feel the same way about thrift store shopping - sometimes I am looking for something specific and sometimes I just enjoy what happens to be there - but the hunt is most of the fun.
I would have had to wait for a warmer day to take this outing.
Sounds like better next time. Stay warm. Tom the backroads traveller
I love your christmas decoration

A pretty treasure and will be a great gift.. Have a happy day and week ahead!
Brrr-- not sure when better to go through a pile of stuff- winter, too cold..summer, you got to watch out for snakes! I love your valentine heart- that's pretty.
Lovely heart!
sometimes the searching is more fun and more rewarding!!
pretty heart!!!
I thought this was a Carmi post...but rubbish, not rubber.
I'm still looking for rubber, everything is plastic. I guess I'll have to post a picture of my car tires.

What a shame I don't live close to you. We threw out a ton of "junk"a few days ago. :)
that is quite a tasty little gem. Good for you getting yourself a talisman....

Oh! For your lucky daughter. Nice magic, Karen <3
At least you both had fun on the treasure hunt!
Your shiny little treasure will most certainly make your daughter's heart sing!
And also, thanks for your visits to the Gypsy! I always love your comments!
Unexpected treasures are the BEST! :))
In New Hampshire, we visited the transfer station (dump) to deposit our garbage every week. The place was set up like a flea market. There were bookshelves loaded with discarded books available to everyone. There were tons of old tools, many of them antiques, that we could take home clean up and use to decorate our huge country kitchen. Rubbish Rocks!
So true especially during these long cold months!
Goodies were discovered! Once inside!
I hope my daughter likes it too!
True, but also this time of year fewer folks snapping up the good stuff!
Especially for me when sometimes I only want to just shoot cool pictures!
Just saw your post great tire and paring knife special! It was an adventure like this day that I bought my Brownie camera for five bucks!
Thanks Cloudia I sure hope she likes it!
oh i love that little heart, what a sweet gift that will make!! when we lived in georgia i had so many great antique stores/flea markets nearby, all within a few minutes from my house. here i have a good half hour to drive to get to one so i just don't do it like i used to...really miss it...we do have black dog salvage in roanoke which is super cool...have you seen that show? i have been meaning to get over there soon! it's been a while!
