Power Wings - Magpie

"Good humor is a paradox.  The unexpected juxtaposition of the reasonable next to the unreasonable."
- Helitzer

Action Figures by Edith Vonnegut

THE MAG

The Cat-LADY
From
SCHENECTADY
and her
POWER-WINGS

There was a cat-lady
from Schenectady
toting a caddy
of
floating Superheroes
from
gloating Blue and Red Power Rangers
to
bloating on their backs
Batman and Robin.

She's a lady
from Schenectady
with a primitivism flair
for heavenly beings
flying and dancing
or vacuuming
as if she were
a cross between
Alexandre Cabanel
marries Mary Poppins.

Bless this lady
from Schenectady
gloating profusely
as more zeros
behind commas
add up
for this cat-lady
from Schenectady.
If only
we could look her up.
Wanna come too?

It must be hard to be from Schenectady... great lines and I like that last photo of the house in the sand. Isn't there a story about that, too?

Intriguing post - as yours so often are. I can't even say 'Schenectady' - but your lady looks a lot more interesting than Mary Poppins.
