In honor of Throw Back Thursday these aren't recent photos,
and not even from our last trip to England. But-
The Queen is coming, the Queen is coming!
and not even from our last trip to England. But-
The Queen is coming, the Queen is coming!
and they have fences!
I'm linking to Theresa's
Along the stately iron fence surrounding Buckingham Palace-
you'll notice a sea of tall, black fur hats worn by
Grenadier Guards, as British Royal Guards called a,
Bearskin Hat.

Meet the Buckingham Palace Guards.
So many hats marching past.
Those men you see in front of Buckingham Palace are the Queen's Guards, and they are a part of the Household Division who have guarded the Sovereign and the Royal Palaces since 1660.

I love seeing the Queen's Guards and their hats. Great fence scene and I love the quote. Have a happy Thursday!
Great image shares...love the Princess Margaret quote at the end of your post. Gives it a more 'personal' feeling of the royals.
Excellent photos, beautiful fence of Buckingham Palace!
Fun Buckingham Palace photos! :-)
they make an impressive array, but i'd sure hate to have to don that uniform!
Wonderful pictures.

Karen...just an added note that my 'mystery' guest has been posted!
Stop by again, if you have time.
Your not-recent trip is more recent than mine...I've never made it over there!
Lovely shots, Karen.

You have a right 'Royal' fence there today.
Ah! A "Royal" fence. Thanks for sharing.
Love those fences. And the Guards. I bet those hats are HEAVY. And hope they are no longer made of bearskin.
They are the finest fences in the UK! I love the colors in your photos and the Household guards uniform is a brilliant blaze of color!
A right fine looking fence for sure. The Guard are so neat to see but those hats look like they would be heavy and warm especially in summer.
I wonder if they keep extra ammunition in those hats.
Nice entry. My daughter was living in England when Princess Di died. She got to see all the flowers people sent and it was quite something to see.
Cool hats, green lawns and very nice iron fence!
Have a Good One!
Peace :)
They are quite impressive, aren't they? I imagine that they get pretty hot under those hats...
The Guards do present a wonderful sight. Great photos Karen! Thank for commenting on my blog. I have a quiet morning after hectic few days on vacation, and wifi is good at present so I am trying to return a few visits.
Enjoyed your pictures and those are some "Royal" fences indeed!
A regal fence! And it looks like you had a sunny day.
I can hear the music :)
Awesome- I don't know why I am so fascinated with the Queen and her family..I guess all that formality and respect. Something our country needs more of.
