Good Fences and Gears

"Your work
is to keep cranking the flywheel
 that turns the gears
that spin the belt
 in the engine of belief
that keeps
you and your desk in midair." Annie Dillard

and Gears

Isn't this a cranking good reuse of materials?

So far it's just a gate over one entry to this field.  No fencing yet.

Most clever is-

They used a wheel to roll open their gate.

So speaking of gears-
Here's a sneak peek of my own gears.

Interestingly enough, I've had my mind on gears as well.  Especially, a rusty old flywheel, that is the base to one of my recent pieces of art.  Currently it's waiting to be judged for display at this year's Fine Arts Department at the Minnesota State Fair.

Enjoy your day and thank you for sharing your time with me today!

I like the Annie Dillard quote (I have enjoyed a number of her books). Your artwork is great (as well as that gate).

First, I love your piece of art. It's creative and unique - and it looks good on top of it! I hope it will make it into the state fair!
Second, that gate is plain amazing. I love how they upcycled all that material. It looks gorgeous! I wonder whether the future fencing will look similar or somehow will fit it.
