All photographs are momento mori. To take a photograph is to participate in another person's (or thing's) mortality, vulnerability, mutability. Precisely by slicing out this moment, and freezing it, all photographs testify to time's relentless melt."

Both are beautiful but I think the monochromatic brings out the details that the color hides.
Have a blessed weekend.
Like the quotes you used. I find it hard to choose which I like best. I guess it depends on what you are shooting for. Yes the mono gives a great detail.
I love the contrasts of the two styles. I find it interesting to look at the differences in how I view the photos.
i always enjoy my visits here...your style is so unique! noticing the vegas booklet, then and now...i have to say i prefer the old vegas...i have so many great memories of going as a kid, even though it wasn't a "family" place then but we lived within a days drive and my family loved vegas and my cousins and i would play in the old circus circus while the adults went about their gambling business lol...the old days!
The angled composition of the first shot makes it really stand out.
yep...gnomes need to be in color
i like the effect b&w has on the moods of photos. thanks, karen.
The quotes are wonderful and inspiring and the photos you made and shared are poignant. Lovely!
Brilliant.
I like your buddy too.
Nice fences and some great BW shots. Your little companion is a cutie.
b&w is cool, it's interesting to see the images both ways!!!!
Great shots. All of them but that one of the clouds is superb!
Do gnomes have more power in color or monochromatic worlds?

I really like the angle you took the 1st photo at. I never think of that but as a newbie to photography I'm picking up more tips & ideas as I go along.
Hi Karen! I'm struck by the perspective lines in this series: Monochrome seems to really bring them out and sear them into my brain. I like how you think visually!
Black and White has a certain kind of nostalgia one misses seeing now!

First windy photo pierce through the skin. It's full of children's excitement and makes me smile. Monochrome is always so deep feeling.
