Blue-pencil Our Recent Whiteout

How about we all blue-pencil drastic winter weather altogether, okay?

Since there really aren't any flowers to stop and smell,
I've been stopping to read tree messages.

And what about those fabulous critter catching trees!

Say hello to a new critter in our family.
He even glows when evening falls.

He doesn't eat much!

More about the weather in my world.
On last Saturday evening-
Throughout the night,
well into Sunday morning,

while everyone slept dreaming of sugar plums
 (or whatever)
winter slyly arrived in full force.
This new fallen white stuff was mostly a wet,
slightly slushy blanket of snow,
but it covered everything it could.

However, somewhere in Alabama,
there wasn't even a flake of snow in the air.

And what to my wondering eyes should appear?
Almost eight not so tiny canoes!

My daughter went camping for the weekend
to achieve her Trooper Camper Certification
from the Girl Scouts of America.

Yippee fire starter success!

As dry leaves before the wild hurricane fly
(or rather recent tornado cries)
When they meet with an obstacle, they mount to the basement.
But all ended well in their little town!

Wow, it's hard for me to imagine camping (like this) in December.
Snowless!

Although our recent snow is pretty much history again,
as you'll see from my walk around town on Monday,
 see what I discovered?

Can you believe I met the most colorful moose ever?

So, "Keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly,
keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing,
and there's so much to smile about."
Marilyn Monroe

Howdy folks!

Mostly, what I've been up to is seeking my mantra for the day. Here's one I think you'll enjoy as well.

"Smile. Dance. Giggle. Laugh. Marvel.
TRUST. Hope. Love. Wish. BELIEVE.
Most of all, enjoy every moment of the journey,
and appreciate where you are at this moment instead of always
focusing on how far you have to go."
Mandy Hale

Thanks for stopping by to say hello,
enjoy your journey and take good care of you!

Hi Karen, you must be very proud of your daughter!

I used to be a Boy Scout. I think it's great for kids to go camping.

Camping when five below zero in the company of a porcupine, will make the silence of a winter morning most memorable.
