Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying the first day of summer today. My post today is about an author I discovered from Brain Pickings.
She's a new author for me,
A Field Guide to Getting Lost, Rebecca Solnit, On How We Find Ourselves.
It seems never to get lost is not living.
Find a beautiful place and get lost.
Getting lost was not a matter of geography so much as identity,
a passionate desire, even an urgent need, to become no one and anyone,
to shake off the shackles that remind you who you are,
who others think you are."
Rebecca Solnit
"To be lost is to be fully present,
and to be fully present is to be capable of being in uncertainty and mystery. "
"Leave the door open for the unknown, the door into the dark.
That's where the most important things come from,
where you yourself came from,
and where you will go."
Rebecca Solnit
The body heals with play.
The mind heals with laughter
and the spirit heals with joy.
Sometimes when you lose your way, you find yourself.
a time of illuminated flowers
glowing like lamps
and morning rain showers following you to work.
Enjoy our first week of summer,
(it will slip away far too quickly)
and take good care of you.

Being open to uncertainty and mystery can be scary - but oh the potential...
Looking forward to it. Happy solstice!
Happy Summer, I hope you get many chances to play and get lost. I hope it is not raining today. Happy Wednesday, enjoy your day!
Thank YOU my dear Pal <3
Kilroy lives (he often gets lost in Florida parks)
I haven't read that book, but the title sounds interesting.
Happy summer ahead Karen, good times, especially if you get a little rain now and then and illuminated flowers too ☺
