Critters on First Day of Autumn

Happy first day of autumn! Let's bring in some critters for

"Outside, it was the perfect air temperature, not too cool and not too warm. It was perfectly still.
The sky was a hazy shade of white peculiar to autumn mornings, and especially this first day of autumn."
 Donna Tartt and Me

"Good morning, Goose!" said the one goose to the other.

And they went on with their day, not even noticing me.

Is that a hat on your head?

Hello Horsey!

Northfield Minnesota Jessie James Day!

"The people who have closed their eyes and ears to the new opportunity are the people who are actually using their brain very little."
Anuj Jasani

"Use what you have, use what the world gives you. Use the first day of fall: bright flame before winter's deadness; harvest; orange, gold, amber; cool nights and the smell of fire."

Live from the best ever Minnesota Rennaissance Festival!

From the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden outside The Walker Art Museum

"I would rather sit on/with a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion," Henry David Thoreau

The leaves as they spark into wild color just before they die are the world's oldest performance art, and everything we see is celebrating one last violently hued hurrah before the black and white silence of winter."

A lovely autumn post. I like the autumn bright flame before the deadness of winter.
I saw that rooster or a version of it in Trafalgar Square in London about 10 yeas ago.

I love how our sensibilities rhyme but are different as each leaf in the autumn. Thank you so much for sharing the beauty that is you and your place in the world and your animals and your point of view. And I must congratulate you on the twin cities baseball club which is moving forward into the post season. I hope you enjoy many crisp autumn ball games! Best wishes my friend. Aloha!

Camels can be nasty, but they have a most pleasing face! Where did the summer go?
