Hudson Haunts and Trumpeter Swans

Please join me on a recap of yesterday's trip to Hudson and my visit with some old friends, Trumpeter Swans. I enjoy saying trip it helps me feel like I went somewhere far away, where in reality it's 43 miles from my garage!

Okay I came early and stayed late. Hudson has much to offer. I mean where else can you find on one block, an outstanding cozy and quirky bookstore, flower shop and divine chocolate shop with ice cream all in a row?

Welcome to

or to dream a new dream. " Les Brown

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

and I'm posting to City Daily Photo

"I've learned this, at least, by my experiment: that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams. . . . .

and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours." Henry David Thoreau

And no, I wasn't invited to dine or walk along.

Are you leading or following?
Honestly the steps we take themselves
make our path as we wander the
streets or throughout nature's calling to us.

Let joy wash over you.

Can you see me?

"Let me keep my distance, always, from those who think they have all the answers.
Let me keep company with those who say, Look up! and laugh in astonishment, and bow their heads." Mary Oliver

I always wanted to spend even one night here.

Once upon a Bed and Breakfast now appears
to be a private residence. Across the street
is the famous Octagon House Museum.

The famous Octagon House another hard place to get in on the tour.

Some deer of Lakeland, Minnesota
of which there are many.

Thank you for sharing time with me.
Take good care of you.

If you're close to Stillwater or could make the drive, I hope you arrived in time before these incredible snow-sculptures were wiped away. We came we saw and enjoyed 2026 until next year's event.

Hello Karen,
Another inspiring post, I love all the wise words of wisdom. Great quotes! The photos are lovely, I like the views of the swans and lake. Love the cute doggies and the deer, the Peacock and the Boobie are great birds. The two houses are beautiful. The Bees Knees is a cute name for the shop. The snow sculptures are amazing. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, have a great week. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Great quotes and photos. I really like those two houses and they'd be great places to stay. Too bad the one is no longer a B&B.

Great posts again Karen. As many times that I have been to Hudson, I never noticed the Yellowstone Trail sign. I need to get over there and drive it. ..Another place to see swans is Vadnais Lake. I have spent nice time with Hudsons swans. ..Always am inspired by HDT and your quotes.....Really liked the reflection photo....Here comes March...Time goes by too fast ..Enjoy all you do, as I know you will.

This is a test to set the record straight; I need to post my comments on my computer! Silly me!

Thank you so much. I'm working on living all of these quotes!

I know, it's another reason one must not put things off. I'm trying to work on that as well, so many things change far too quickly. Must live with no regrets, and "do the things."

Thank you so much. Not sure which I enjoy more, putting posts together or referring back to them. Oh, and staying away from the news! More happy moments, less stress.

Thank you so much, and thank you for your inspiring photos as well, you live in a lovely world of nature and critters!

Thank you for your cheery comment, and March will have to hang on we still have a good number of hours left in February. Thanks for the Vadnais Lake idea I will check it out. I took the back roads from Hastings to Hudson and discovered Lakeland and their many deer roaming free. Wish Selma's was open in Afton, oh well come springtime. Freeways are boring and the off roads (and hidden gems) much more appealing. Enjoy the week!

Totally get the back road routes. Just got back from the ARB, taking back roads all I could. 🙂
