That Feeling When

That feeling when the open road beckons you to explore, discover or wander to unexpected destinations? Or has winter gotten in the way?

Welcome to

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

and posting to City Daily Photo

Anywhere you want to go is within walking distance

if you have the time.

My wanderings bring all kinds of photos for my collection.
Are you ready for my critter explosion unleashed?

Notice what is right in front of you.

Trust the flow.

The present moment doesn't need perfect conditions.

Arrive with each step.

Everything has beauty but not everyone sees it.

Quiet the chatter.

Do you see the rainbow?

Oddly enough this is on Rainbow Mountain too!

The important thing is to not stop questioning things.

Curiosity has its own reasons for existence.

My son's first major fire. This photo was taken by the police chief.

"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire."
Charles Bukowski

Life isn't about a picture of perfection. It's a weaving of normal times, imperfect moments, everyday wakings, challenges, good and bad. Our lives are a weaving between our past desires, today's moments, and gatherings from yesterday.

Thank you for wandering along with me.
Happy March 1st tomorrow and
take good care of you.

Beautiful photos! The trees are stunning, but the rainbow shot is my favorite. Also, your son’s first major assignment looks really testing, hope he’s holding up okay!

Hello Karen,
I like your explosion of critters. The Muscovy ducks are strange looking and the doggies are so cute.
Lovely sculptures. Great capture of your granddaughter with the rainbow. Love seeing the eagles with the crows, they found some food to eat. The last quote is great, so true! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your day and happy 1st week of March. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.

Your posts let's me sit and think about each one. I have a ceramic squirrel that looks like the one you show in a splendid freshly washed plaza. ..Is that Rainbow mountain om Alabama or Peru ? Walking is a great thing. Especially when you have time....Is that cobweb draped room in Stillwater by chance ?
Thank you and thank your fireman son. I believe spring has sprung.

Your opening quote about everything being within walking distance should be my life quote as I've done a lot of walking over the years. Congratulations on your son becoming a firefighter. It is exciting and you do build deep friendship with those you have to depend on when at the fire scene.

Thank you for stopping by and your nice comments, and questions! Rainbow Mountain is in Alabama, and the cobweb draped room was not by chance, my daughter and I were waiting for a Haunted Trolly Ride that I highly recommend. This particular one drove us in the dark of night around Stillwater, making stops along the way, including the famous cemetery and costumed actors portraying real characters from Stillwater's history hopping on and playing out a little skit for us all. It was fabulous!

I believe that quote does suit you well, and if you're not walking, you're canoeing as well! I always enjoy reading your stories and seeing the photos as well!

Thank you and also thank you for the name, Muscovy Ducks.

Oh and the Muscovy Ducks, in which there were many that day were showing off almost as we strolled around in Huntsville, Alabama!

I enjoyed this wandering which ended in that dramatic photo of your son's first major fire. What a proud moment for you. Even though I'm slightly handicapped with mobility, I try hard to not let winter get in the way of discovery. Life's too short and precious. I hope the rest of your week if filled with happiness. Hugs.

I love how your words remind us to slow down and notice the beauty right in front of us.
The critters made me smile too.
Wishing your son safety in his firefighting journey, and happy March to you!
