SIX WORD SATURDAY
     
Welcome to Six Word Saturday where Cate, from "Show My Face" blog asks us to share what's new in just six words.


I bet you thought I'd DESCRIBE what today is?

Or, that I'd BRING OUT the color GREEN?


But I'm not!




DOES ANYBODY REALLY KNOW
OUR SEASON?


Hint, it's mid March 2012, with temperatures in the 70's expected to reach the 80's.  Although, things aren't always as they seem. 

As seventeen year Abby (out for a swim) discovered in her bathing suit at a local lake coming back to shore with ice in her hand.  Her story featured on Thursday's front page in the StarTribune.  Complete with a smile, and I imagine goosebumps too.

               DNR state climatologist Pete Boulay said, "Unprecedented for March" the ice has vanished from three southern Minnesota Lakes this week.

PLEASE, don't let your common sense slip away too.  The lakes are extremely cold.  Just ask Abby who took her dip on Wednesday in Lake Nokomis.  Well gosh the group was hanging out at the beach as if they were on some exotic beach vacation!  Of course somebody had to go in!




Remember to bring all your boating gear if you go boating!

          We were celebrating at a castle.....

Murder-Mystery at Spicer Castle on Green Lake.

The Murder Mystery, "A Chicago Caper"

.....Our Murder Mystery began.....in September 1928 some where in Chicago.....

Waiting for the suspects to arrive.......

SPICER CASTLE

Totally exciting because this Murder Mystery
involved family and friends.
No strangers!

Then everyone heads to their room
or cabin to change into character!

Two hours until our Murder-Mystery-Dinner party.....

this is gonna be some night!

While preparing for our Chicago-Caper Murder-Mystery,
the castle itself is sprucing up,
the staff makes a perfect experience.

Let the characters roll in...there's Silky M. Adam and Billy, while Torchy and Charlie "Golf Bag" Marconi are coming up behind.....

Ernie (Bet a Million) G. Ambler has a deep dark secret to share....about gorgeous flappers and wads of loot!

This year I swore

Upon little faces


Sharing pleasures
and putting out shoes
For old St. Nicholas
And don’t be ridiculous

I have issues to resolve, bury, destroy, change, forget about.....

There are great books out there

Everything Good IN Life - You Learned in Kindergarten.....

or, All I Need To Know About Life I learned from my CAT or Dog, or Star Wars, or Star Trek...

I GET IT!

BUT! I think the Wizard of Oz got it right, wouldn't you agree?

The Scarecrow-  thought he needed a BRAIN,

The Tinman -  thought he needed a HEART,

The Lion  -  thought, he needed COURAGE

Dorothy -  thought she needed LOVE and FAMILY



I have all five of these and I'm gonna use them to the fullest.....right now...this very moment.

Six Word Saturday - 12 Nov 2011 Splice the Main

THIS IS A SIX WORD SATURDAY POST










 SPLICE THE MAIN BRACE
           VERY SOON!


It's not that I'm always nautical

just feeling as humorful as that expression is, FINALLY!

it's a synonym for taking a drink!

This nautical saying links to any "brace" or rope that is worn and can be strengthened by "splicing."  Man (they say) is strengthened by a strong drink ...so, to "splice the main brace" is to serve out grog. (a variety of alcoholic beverages).

You see the evening before my 6:00 a.m. flight to California (best wine sipping) I had a MURPHY LAW experience! (if anything can go wrong, it will)   Yes, my right hand arm got in the center of a lady cat fight between my usually tame cat and my daughter's not so interactive/I need no NEW friends ever, I am Queen!   My tame  Miss Alpha-Cat stood her ground.

    Once I landed in California a quick shot in the hip, followed by Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Tablets (and resisting pain pills I took Advil for the throbbing and constant excruciating pain of it all.)

BUT what place to be in such pain, right? I mean sunny California to take your mind off your troubles, right?!

Enough whining.  Yes, both kitties still live, after all Mine was faced with royalty that threatened her entire kingdom.  Once she discovered it was me she was battling I saw her complete horror.

But, all that while I was in wine country, I could not partake.
Bummer, really.

Composing, my own, personal    procrastination list.

Revising everyday.


Most of us don’t really procrastinate so much, at least not about the really big stuff.
Or do we?
Do you let procrastination linger in the air?


Some people live by lists. I keep lists in my head. Sure we’re mostly organized, but there’s always that one thing, (or possibly many things) that we know we need to do, but we let procrastination be our fall guy.


Procrastination delays ambition and the urgency to postpone our own personal industriousness which puts off our motivation and makes us drag our feet instead of possessing enthusiasm which builds diligence to make us the dynamic person we really are!

          Tomorrow marks the 10 year anniversary of 9 11 ..... and the news is buzzing with talk of possible new attempts happening.  My brain tells me to listen to the news, while my intuition tells me to run away from it.  

So can you guess what's on my mind?
