Safe at last, on a dirt road leading away from "the end" of the forest, Stella had survived her terrifying turbulent past to begin again.

Oh now this is great - a good ending that could have come from a really bad beginning. Loved it!
Maybe the best beginnings happen from really dramatic endings?
