So curvaceous he shall have from my very own backyard bonfire pit!
Yep, I thought a new location was necessary, for our bonfires! So I dug up a new hole and brought the fire pit closer to the wilderness!
I did it on a whim, just today!
Although, the thought has been brewing inside my head forever it seems.
Yes we had our first bonfire in it this evening!
After a bit, the moon came out to see it too.

This is amazing! How clever you are, Karen! And what a great idea - do you cook on it? Tell us more, please.
Such talent! Now I want to go camping!
That's great!
Alexia, I do! We also have a gas grill on the deck we use a lot. But I like putting a grate over the fire and cook away!
That's a great fire pit, wish I had a back yard big enough for one. We went camping last weekend, and as always, one of the parts of the day is in the evening, sitting around the fire just talking.
Karen: We do the same thing. My fire pit is not as artfully constructed, but after many years of camping, I still love to cook on an open fire.
Yes, I have neighbors who have outdoor fireplaces. I thought they were great, too, until I realized that all the smoke from their fires ends up in my house! I like them rather less now.
However, I must admit that yours is a fine choice for the theme.
(Besides, YOUR smoke is too far away to end up in my house.)
I haven't seen anyone cook on an open fire for years and even then not in such a magnificent fire pit as this.
You made my smile curve up:-)
Aloha
That is so awesome! I would love to have one of those. It would even be great during a snowstorm! Keep us nice and toasty, and we could even make S'mores!
Amazing! I'd definitely be barbecuing on that!
Looks perfect for marshmallows, Karen.

Love, love, love the night shot! Great take on the theme :)
