Welcome!
Emmie was ecstatic,
sharing the day with us at the lake for Mother's Day!
I hope you all had a marvelous day.
I begin this week's posts about a favorite poet of mine.

Emily Dickinson
tundra of the United States fool you. Why?
Because we do know how to heat things up.
Just lately in fact.
See here how a Marathon in the honor of Emily Dickinson
led by an ambitious group shared
the power of bringing Dickinson's voice
to real life.

Emily Dickinson often called the lady in white
died on May 15th 1886, at the early age of 55.
She may have lived most of her short life
in reclusive isolation,
but I promise reading her words
offers such empowerment.

I'm sharing a few
of her quotes today,
along with a few recent photos of mine.

My life away from the headlines of day.
This is not fake news.
Live streaming is a good thing,
like bringing Lyra's concert
live all the way
from Alabama to Minnesota!
"The soul should always stand ajar,
ready to welcome the ecstatic experience."
Emily Dickinson
"Not knowing when the dawn will come
I open every door."
"To live is so startling
it leaves little time for anything else."

Never sit too long.
Journey on.
Journey on.
"Forever is composed of nows."
Okay this photo is from a few years ago,
but what's happening in this photo really speaks to Emily's quote.
Little Danny running about soaking up life, is a priceless moment."
"Saying nothing, sometimes says the most."
We are what we do.
Recognize these pillars?
It's a springtime view, of my blog header photo.
"I dwell in possibility."
Okay, seeing snow you know this wasn't from this week, but it's one of our last snow falls not long ago.
Meet Viper, a new neighbor that couldn't wait to come say hello!

"Dogs are better than human beings
because they know but do not tell."
Well since I brought in snow how about one of my favorite photos of this year because again it's so fitting with one of Emily's quotes.
Hurry snap my picture, because next week,
(I kid you not) the temperatures hit the 70's!
"We turn not older with years
but newer every day."
and sometimes we simply melt away....!
quoted the snowman before he took leave.
quoted the snowman before he took leave.
"I am out with lanterns, looking for myself."
and what did I find?
A whole bunch of faces that I really, truly love!
Here are just 4 faces smiling for my camera!

Bless you Karen my true friend <3
Beautiful. Thank you. You offer so much that is valuable. Hugs.
I hope you had a great Mother's Day and I wish we were going to only be in the 70s next week!
Thanks for the gratuitous gnome.
Hit 70, huh. Wow. It was 94 on my Sunday hike, when I about killed myself. Heat stroke is painful. I think I killed half of my brain cells.
Hello, I loved all the quotes and images. The doggies are adorable, love the new neighbor dog too. The kiddies smiles are wonderful, beautiful captures! Have a happy day!
I can see why Emily Dickinson is a favourite Karen.. your photos of family life are much enjoyed ☺
the columns are the same as the ones in your header picture??
is that your snowman?? our temperatures have been up and down as well - we had the heat on this morning and we are expecting 90's this week!!!!
Emily's brief life enriched our world.
Emily's words are so
Thought provoking & empowering!
Lovely to see those precious family members
I was first introduced to the works of Emily Dickinson in 1991. Her words and phrases are golden.
Good post, Karen!
Great lines, she's my favorite poet!
