Happy Earth Day with Critters

Wishing everyone a Happy Earth Day and that you have sunshine and can celebrate it with gusto. Here in Minnesota we can't really celebrate earth day by planting any trees, shrubs or flowers during this wintry mix point in our weather.

I heard a rumor that winter has packed its bags but missed every train.

"The stars are a reminder that we are all part of something bigger, a cosmic tapestry of weaving together the threads of the universe."

Aja Ahmad Khawajz

All we can do is make use of our greenhouses and inside blooming planters.

"The earth is what we all have in common."

Wendell Berry

I've been dreaming of days from last summer, like this photo in Hastings, Minnesota.

Sometimes, too often, "We act as though comfort and luxury were the chief requirements of life, when all we need to make us really happy is something to be enthusiastic about."

Charles Kingsley

"Earth care, as it turns out, is really about self-care and other care. What we design today impacts how we live tomorrow. For better or for worse, it impacts far into upcoming generations."

L.L. Barkat

This artwork was created by an eleven-year-old artist, and it was one of the winners in The Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest.

You haven't appreciated real friendship until you've been loved by a dog. Or a cat. Maybe a Peacock, or horse. Maybe even a goat, or a llama llama without any drama!

Spilt Rock in Two Harbors, Minnesota

and mighty Lake Superior

Different days, different captures.

"Saw a little girl touch a big bug and shout, "I conquered my fear!
YES! and calmly walk away. I was inspired."
Nathan Fillion

The earth and its many gifts are so inspiring too!

"The mind that is not baffled is not employed.

The impeded stream is the one that sings."

Wendell Berry

"No matter what your level of ability,

you have more potential than you can ever develop in a lifetime."

"Enthusiasm is that certain something that makes us stand out, pulls us out of the mediocre common places, and turns us into powerful influencers."
Michelle Moore

Always go with your gut feelings.
Dogs do this.
"The most intelligent people have learnt the art of ignoring what does not make them feel good."
Sanchita Pandey
and from her book Lessons from My Garden

"Your intuitive powers increase when you are with plants because your mind is silenced, and you become more aware in the present moment."
Sanchita Pandey

Hello Karen,
I had a laugh over winter packing it's bags but always missing the train.
The weather is a little crazy, temps going from the 30's to the 80's. Love all your sweet and adorable furbabies and the turtles. The painting for the peace poster contest is awesome, congrats to the 11yr old artist. Beautiful views of the lighthouse and cliffs. We must take care of our earth. I enjoyed all your photos and the quotes. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Take care, enjoy your day and have a great new week! PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
